Some of our favorite bookings are the ones where we already know the family — a sister's wedding two years ago, a best friend who recommended us before she'd even set a date. It means the trust was already there before we ever picked up a brush.

Yes, there's such a thing as crying-proof wedding makeup.

Waterproof mascara is the obvious one. The less obvious part: setting technique matters more than any single product, and where we place setting powder changes whether "a few happy tears" turns into a touch-up emergency.

You're allowed to cry at your own wedding. Your makeup should be allowed to survive it.

Do you do a trial, and is it included or separate? What happens if you're sick the morning of my wedding — is there a backup? How many brides do you take on my wedding date? Can I see a full gallery of real weddings, not just close-up shots?

The answers tell you more than any portfolio photo will.

The wedding morning actually starts the night before.

Kit gets restocked, outfits get laid out, the timeline gets triple-checked against the coordinator's — not because we don't trust it, but because a five-minute buffer at 7am is worth an hour of calm later.

Nobody sees this part. It's still the part that makes the morning feel effortless.

Nobody tells you what to actually bring to a bridal trial. Here's the real list (swipe through):

Inspiration photos — not fifty, just the 3-5 you keep coming back to. A photo of your dress, or the dress itself if it's already here. Any jewelry or accessories you already know you're wearing. An open mind about hair — sometimes the photo you love isn't the one that suits your face shape, and that's a good conversation to have early. Wear the color of your dress - White, Ivory, Off White, etc. This will help you visualize colorwise!
