In less than one year at ABC Barber College, you can become eligible to take the State exam to work as a barber professional. Our unique training is geared toward helping you learn and retain the information as fast as possible. The state board along with a registration and certification of the same from this institution requires 1500 clock hours over a period of 12 months. In order to be certified you must pass the school final written exam with a grade of 75% and 180 theory hours. Barber training will prepare you to move forward in your endeavor and to gain the level of success desired. Placement Opportunities
We are very interested in the position our students secure after becoming licensed. The school maintains a current list of prospective employers. Although it is not guaranteed, the school will assist in arranging interviews and making contacts for possible employment. The job market is exceptionally good now and almost 100% of our students find work immediately. Course Description - Barbering

Must have 1500 hours over a period of twelve months. In order to be certified you must pass the school final written exam with a grade of 75% and 180 theory hours, performing 5 1/2 practical services daily. Classes include:

Hygiene and sanitation
Massaging/manipulating the muscles of the face, neck and scalp unit
Shaving
Barber stylist chemistry
Shop management
Salesmanship and product knowledge
Hairstyling
Haircutting

Barber Instructor Course

Must have 600 hours in the study and art of teaching specific skills including an ability to present and explain relevant subject material, demonstrate practical applications, and oversee the implementation of practical skills by students as a matter of preparing them through educational measures to perform professionally. Use of visual, audio, video will be used throughout the course of study. Classes include:

Preparatory training and lecture prep
Conducting theory class
Clinic attendance
Record keeping and student counseling
