My client stretches her relaxer touch-ups to about 3½ months, and when it’s time, how the relaxer is applied matters just as much as when.

A proper relaxer application allows me to work carefully and efficiently without unnecessarily coating the scalp with relaxer. That means less risk of irritation and chemical burns—and gives the relaxer time to properly process the new growth without us racing against a burning scalp.
