It’s been a while since I’ve done a good skin meme dump, and a Monday feels like the right time 💁🏼♀️
A little SPF guilt, skincare delusion, injectable humor, and the things we’re all thinking but probably shouldn’t say out loud.
Providers, which one felt a little too familiar? 👀

After this many years in aesthetics, the medical terminology is pretty much second nature to me. I can talk about volume loss, dynamic lines, collagen, pigment and facial balance all day.
But patients don’t talk about their faces that way 😆
They say, “I don’t look so tired.” “My makeup looks better.” “I look like myself again.”
Different vocabulary. Same goal.
You don’t need to know the clinical terminology to know when something looks good.
Fellow injectors/providers: what’s the best non-clinical description of a result you’ve heard in your treatment room? 👇🏼

The dreaded butt-chin complication after chin tox - it’s totally treatable and avoidable.
This patient had been treated elsewhere, but hated how it left her chin.
The goal of treating the chin is to keep it smooth, minimize dimpling and soften the chin crease.
Pro tip: Notice how her mouth turns down when she frowns? The mentalis and DAO work in opposition to each other. The best results are achieved when both are treated.
Every face moves differently, and sometimes the smallest adjustments in placement can make a big difference in the result.
What area of tox would you like me to break down next? 👇
The glam side of aesthetics gets a lot of attention.
The reality? Most of us are squeezing our own treatments in between patients, answering messages, and eating lunch whenever we remember.
This combo: a collagen-stimulating filler paired with resurfacing laser to improve firmness, elasticity, and texture.
Perks of the job 🫶🏻
One of the things I hear the most is, “My skin looks terrible.”
Most of the time, it doesn’t. It looks like skin. 😅
I think we’ve spent so much time looking at filtered faces that we’ve started believing healthy skin should have no pores, no texture, and no movement.
That’s not realistic, and that shouldn’t be the goal.
People don’t experience your face through a smoothing filter or a zoomed-in front camera. They see you in conversation, in natural light, when you laugh, when you smile, when you tell a story.
That’s the version of you that matters.
My job isn’t to erase every pore or line. It’s to help your skin be as healthy as it can be while still looking like you.

People are always surprised when I tell them they don’t need as much as they thought.
That doesn’t mean there’s nothing we can do.
It just means there’s usually a smarter way to get there.
Which slide resonated with you most?

The internet has made everything feel dangerous. 😅
One day it’s sunscreen.
The next day it’s Botox.
Then it’s filler.
Then it’s “medical-grade skincare is a scam.”
It gets exhausting trying to separate evidence from engagement.
Credit to Kayla | Functional Nutrition & Strength Coach for sharing such an honest perspective.
The internet rewards controversy. The more shocking the claim, the more it spreads.
But science doesn’t work that way.
We know UV exposure causes premature skin aging and increases the risk of skin cancer. 🚨
We know a tan isn’t healthy. It’s your skin responding to UV damage.
And decades of research continue to support sunscreen as one of the best ways to protect your skin.
I’ll always choose evidence over engagement.
What are your thoughts on the sunscreen debate? 🧴
Some people will read this list and immediately unfollow.
Others will book a consultation.
I’m okay with both 💉
Injectors: What’s your biggest non-negotiable? 👇
Everyone has a take on facial changes after weight loss.
Here’s mine.
Weight loss can absolutely change your face, but not everyone needs filler. The goal isn’t to replace every ounce of lost volume. It’s understanding what actually changed and choosing the right treatment at the right time throughout the journey.
Sometimes that’s skincare. Sometimes it’s collagen stimulation. Sometimes it’s laser resurfacing. Sometimes it’s filler. The right answer depends on the face in front of you.
What changes have you noticed after weight loss?
