There are few messages lash artists dread more than:
“Hey… my eyes are swollen”
Not because we did something wrong.
Not because we were careless.
But because sometimes, even when you are highly educated, cautious, and doing everything correctly, allergies and sensitivities can still happen. 😅
And honestly, that part can be heartbreaking.
If you feel like allergies and sensitivities are something you could still learn more about, I have a full 3-part series on the topic. The best prevention truly starts with understanding how sensitivities develop and what can contribute to them. 👇💬
Traditionally, when allergic reactions happen:
You have had to tell the client they can no longer receive lash extensions.
You may never see that client again, even after building such a strong relationship with them.
And of course, there is also the loss of income that comes with losing a long-term client.
That is exactly why we created our Connection Glue to pair with our Citizen Lashes.
Our connection glue was specifically formulated with sensitive eyes in mind and to this day, we haven’t had anyone react to it.
And the best part? It is still:
• water-resistant (yes, even tears + showers)
• able to provide multi-day wear
• damage-free
• insanely lightweight, and invisible
Around here, allergies to lash extensions no longer mean lost connections with clients, disappointed clients, or lost income for artists. It simply means a service adjustment and finding a new option that works better for them.
For some clients, this may even be a temporary seasonal solution during allergy flare-ups to other allergens in the air before eventually returning to lash extensions again.
If you want to learn more about incorporating this service into your business for clients with sensitivities or allergies, send us a message and we would love to chat with you about it 🤍
Are you unintentionally losing clients and adding unnecessary time to your services? 🤨

Do you aim for 100% coverage on each client? 👇
No matter your experience level or the styles you create, every lash artist needs a tray of 0.03 lashes on hand.
Here’s why 👀
- 0.03 lashes are the most versatile diameter in the lash industry. They can be used for hyper real sets, classic style sets, soft wispy sets, dense volume, wet sets, spikes, filling gaps, and protecting delicate natural lashes from unnecessary strain.
They are the only diameter that can truly be used on literally any client you have.
- Even clients with the healthiest, thickest natural lashes still have baby lashes throughout the lash line. Most of the time, skipping them won’t affect the final result… until those lashes sit in the bottom layer.
If you skip them, suddenly the set looks gappy in that area no matter how full you made everything else.
A 1-10D 0.03 fan instantly fixes this without overloading the natural lash.
- For clients with very fine lashes, thicker rigid (higher diameter) extensions can also create retention issues because the extension itself does not flex naturally when brushed or cleansed.
Instead, the movement gets transferred directly to the natural lash at the attachment point, weakening or cracking the bond.
With 0.03 fans, the fan itself is able to flex and bend naturally during movement, taking the strain off of the natural lash itself.
This creates a softer, more seamless connection with better long term retention.
- Here’s a secret: if you have clients that pick their lashes, 0.03 lashes can stop this 🫢
Clients are only easily able to pick at extension bases that exceed the size of the base of the natural lash.
If you have lash pickers that get classic lashes for example, try a wet set using 7D(ish) 0.03 lashes and watch…
They won’t be able to get nearly as many lashes off and most will stop picking altogether because it doesn’t feel as if there is anything to pick with the seamless connection you’ve created.
If I could only keep one lash diameter on hand, it would without a doubt be 0.03🫢
No but seriously, WYD? 👀😧

Most lash artists think retention comes down to the glue they use… or their placement technique.
But after over a decade of teaching students around the world, I can tell you
it’s usually the small things like this that make or break retention.
Proper glue pickup controls everything:
• how much adhesive you’re using
(too much = slipping, poor control, stickies… and we all know how that ends)
• how clean your placement is
(more glue = less control = messy sets + wonky lashes your clients will want to pick)
• how well the extension actually bonds
(this is where retention really falls apart... your placement can be perfect, but too much glue can cause subtle shifting… and even the tiniest lift = premature shedding or discomfort → which usually leads to picking)
Too much → bulky bases + poor retention
Too little → weak attachment (partial curing before connection is even made)
And most artists are doing this without even realizing it…
Instead, we start blaming things like aftercare, our glue, or the lashes themselves being “wrong.”
(no shade, I did this for way longer than I’d like to admit… it’s part of the learning process)
The point is, retention isn’t just about your glue or your placement…
It’s about understanding how all of these small details work together.
And this?
This is just one piece.
If you’re ready to actually understand and control your retention…
I have a full retention webinar where I break everything down step-by-step.
It’s honestly one of the most affordable trainings we offer, and it’s helped a lot of artists completely shift their results.
