I see alot of ladies with locs loving those slick back ponytails. Yes its cute 🤏🏾. But consistently doing these ponytails can cause damage. You're basically brushing your new growth and making them stretch out to go into the ponytail which causes the roots to become weak. By doing so a normal retwist cannot fix the damage done. The retwist of the unlocked roots will be longer and basically seem boneless because its way more stretched out from the brushing.

Crocheting helps with making them loc back up instantly for a more secure retwist in the future and healthier foundation for your locs not to become heavy which can cause thinning at your roots.
