Today I spent my afternoon in the kitchen.
I bought just a plain organic chicken breast on the bone.
I used spices ,
garlic powder
onion powder
 smoked paprika
salt
pepper
Oregano
First drizzle on a little
EVOO
spread your seasoning and pack it down , I also sliced one lemon on top .
marinate for two days,
bake 400 degrees
till the internal temperature is 165 .
Let it cool on the refrigerator, I left it cold for two days .
slice thin with a good knife ! wow it’s so good and so easy !
This is one of the many things I do to control what I put into my body .
let me know if you’ve done this before or if you try it .

If you have time get out and enjoy this beautiful arboretum 🦋
Sit out and listen to the trees in the wind and the birds singing ,
Calm quiet moments is one way that we can rest and recover from stress .

I made homemade Ginger ale today ! It was amazing!

When you have as many digestive issues like me with CVID , drinking alcohol is not always your friend .

What are some benefits of ginger:
relief from nausea
reduced inflammation
and improved digestion. Calms and upset stomach Compounds called gingerols help to soothe sore muscles and helps with inflammation Digestion support
It speeds up how fast the food leaves your stomach.
Reduces bloating.
also a blood sugar reduction.

Here’s how I made it :
slice up 1/2 cup fresh ginger
1 cup honey
1cup water
on medium high heat, I stirred mixture until the honey dissolved. Bring to a boil and then turn off your heat. I let mine set for about 45 minutes on my stove to infuse.
Take out your ginger let it dry out. It makes a great treat and wonderful when you have an upset stomach .
Store syrup after cooled in a glass jar and store in your refrigerator
I put about 4 tablespoons of syrup in my glass with ice and filled it with carbonated water top with a lime 🍋‍🟩 enjoy !

This morning, I rode my bike down to the Hudson farmers market, where I picked up kale, lots of garlic and some fresh peaches.
Support your body , your gut and your local farmers 😊

As someone living with CVID ( common variable immuno deficiency) I definitely have a lot of gut issues.
Your IGA’s make up 70% of your micro biome and your gut. I have no IGA’s and very little IGG’s
That’s one of the many reasons that I eat organic , I stay away from gluten when possible, and I drink my Ryze mushroom coffee .
make sure you follow me for more healthy tips on how to take care of your immune system and your gut.

I am harvesting my Stevia plant today, it was growing so tall.
Stevia is the best and the most natural sweetener. I’m so excited to start experimenting more with this plant.

Today I rode my bike down to the farmers market. I picked up three kinds of fresh lettuce, grown by local farmers, some peppers and onions. 🧅
Everything is washed .
With the Cyclopora parasite outbreak , it’s great to know that we have wonderful local farmers who are taking every precaution to get us fresh produce.

This morning I made mini quiche with red green and yellow peppers, mushrooms, onion, goat cheese, spinach and a little rosemary, salt, and pepper, and some non-dairy free milk
You can really throw in anything that you would like.

It’s so important as women, especially in menopause to have protein, we just don’t get enough in our diet.

Combats muscle loss, as estrogen levels drop, the risk of muscle loss speeds up. protein helps build amino acids needed for lean muscle tissue keeping you strong.

Protein helps your bones, supports metabolism, and weight management.
Also stabilizes your blood sugar.

When you pair protein with a good complex carbohydrate, it slows down digestion, preventing blood, sugar, spikes, and crashes.

I’m not an egg fan, but I do like it when I add it with lots of fresh veggies!
