These social media streets are a true reminder:
not everything takes shape right away.
Some things — often the most meaningful ones — take their time.
Lately, I’ve been thinking about what it means to keep showing up, especially when impact isn’t always visible.
It’s a strange thing — to share ourselves, our creations, our energy, our intentions - and not always know who’s receiving it on the other side.
But I’m learning to trust the quiet seasons, too.
Not all growth spurts are visible.
Foundations form in the dark, long before the flower.
And some offerings reach hearts you may never see.
I’m still creating.
Still offering.
Still here.
Trusting in the unseen impact.
The offering is made. The rest is trust.
The remedies are here — just like always.
If you ever need support accessing them — through gift, trade, or pay-what-you-can — just reach out.
If they resonate, you deserve to receive them.
Thank you for being here —
whether you whisper back or simply receive. 🌿

I crashed all the way out recently.
It was just one of dem days.
Mental exhaustion. Irritation. Nerves frayed.
One of those can’t-see-the-light-at-the-end-of-the-tunnel kinda days.
You know — the kind that just takes you out.
Mentally, emotionally, energetically.
Looking back, it’s kinda funny now…
I was over it all — the challenges, the people, and the out-of-my-control circumstances behind the challenges — and that constant feeling of helplessness.
It took a few days.
Some late-night talks with my loves — and with myself.
And finally… turning to the plants.
Not to fix me.
But to sit with me.
To remind me that the crashout was necessary —
but not meant to last too long.
That I wasn’t helpless — just tired.
And that solutions come with rest, and a calm mind.
🫖 This blend is called Search Mi Heart — named after the powerful Jamaican herb at its center, and a Jamaican phrase for seeking clarity, comfort, and emotional truth.
And let me tell you — this blend delivered.
✨ I’m sending out a few free packets this week —
just comment or DM me the word CRASHOUT, and I’ll reach out. A little something from my heart to yours. 🤎

I’ve been thinking a lot about my grandmother lately.
Miss Ruby — or as we grandkids called her, Nuna. 🤎
Nuna was a badass. So funny, and brutally honest! Which as a kid didn’t always feel like love, but I’ve come to understand her! A community activist in her younger days & respected in our Kingston, Jamaica neighborhood. She raised me from 8 until I migrated to the U.S. at 15 — with the help of some powerful plant allies.
Even though she probably didn’t know the word, Nuna was a “herbalist”.
We had the cure for pretty much everything growing in our yard (or a neighbor’s) — mint, cerasee, g***a, fever grass, guava leaf, soursop leaf, bissy, jack in the bush, leaf of life… These were the medicines of my childhood — all simply called bush tea. 😊
We rarely, if ever, went to a doctor. Bush teas were cure-alls. I still remember when I had the mumps — Nuna heated a banana leaf with castor oil & wrapped it around my cheeks. And that was that!
And when I was a teenager, preparing for my U.S. embassy appointment — the one that would decide if I got a visa to come to America — she did what she always did: turned to the plants.
The night before, she made a bush bath in a tin basin in the back yard. I don’t remember all the herbs, but she said, “This will wash off any crosses.” Meaning fear, bad luck, or whatever might block the path.
Then she prayed over me. “Everything will work out,” she said.
And she was right.
The next day, I got the kindest immigration officer. No grilling, no drama. Just a smile, and the sound of a stamp. Visa granted. A life-changing moment!
That was over 40 years ago.
That bath. That prayer. That simple act of care. It cleared the way.
Because sometimes care looks like bush water.
Sometimes it sounds like your grandmother’s voice.
🌿 Make a bath. Add herbs. Add prayer.
Let the water carry away what no longer belongs to you.
That, too, is wellness.
That, too, is medicine.

🌿 A New Way Forward
Something’s been shifting — not just in me, but in how I want to share my offerings.
Soulshine Wellness Co. was born from my love of making herbal remedies for family and friends — gifting herbal tea blends, fire ciders, and custom remedies for anything that ailed them! It brought me so much joy, and was so much fun. And learning about all the amazing plants nature provides has become a lifelong passion for sure!
Now, I’m honoring that beginning even more fully by opening up a new way to receive these remedies.
A seed for this shift was planted at a recent event I shared about when herbalist Misty Cook shared that in her Mohican tradition, medicine isn’t something they charge for — it’s something they share.
It was an AHA moment, one where everything clicked, and I felt deeply aligned with how I want to move forward.
🌿 Anyone can now access every offering through gift, trade, or contribution.
Because herbal care should never feel out of reach — and we’re not all in the same season, with the same resources.
This is still a business. But it’s also a living, breathing circle — one where you’re invited to give what you can, and receive what you need!
Thank you for being part of this path. 🤎

Running a small business is one of the most beautiful and brutal things my family has ever done!!
Right now at our Wellness Teahouse we’re facing serious challenges — significant rising ingredient costs, steep tariffs, and a shortage of the very thing our business is built on: matcha. It’s forced us to cut our hours and rethink everything.
And honestly? It’s taken a toll.
On our bodies. Our nervous systems. Our rest.
Maybe you’ve felt it too, whether you run your own business, hold up a family, or carry a dream that asks a lot of you!
That’s why I put this together, not just to name what we’re walking through, but to offer something supportive for anyone feeling the weight of deep stress!
These are the practices I’m trying to lean into myself, and truthfully it’s not always easy when dealing with a lot. But, here on this page, I’m committing to weaving real-life experiences, challenges and all, into what I share, because healing doesn’t happen in a vacuum. It happens in community. With care. With rest. And with amazing gifts from nature!
Swipe through to explore five common stress patterns — like hyper-independence or over-responsibility — and the herbal allies that can help us find our way back to center:
🌿 Motherwort
🌿 Ashwagandha
🌿 Chamomile
🌿 Linden
🌿 Blue Vervain
🌿 Save this post if it resonates
🤎 Share it with a fellow business owner, caregiver, or anyone currently navigating any stressor(s).
💬 And if you feel called, drop a comment: What pattern feels familiar to you right now?
And, thanks for being here! ❤️

🫚 From Root to Radiance ☀️
Six herbs. One intention: To heal what dulls our shine.
Lately, I’ve been doing some soul-searching around self-worth — not just affirming it, but trying to embody it. Letting myself bloom. At 58, it’s literally about time! 😊
Part of that journey has been reconnecting with plants that supported my lineage for generations, the ones my ancestors would’ve known, touched, brewed, and trusted — and herbs beloved across cultures for their healing, strength, and wisdom.
These herbal allies are an offering — to myself, and to anyone healing inherited wounds and reclaiming their light. Each one was chosen with intention, rooted in both their healing power and cultural significance.
Because radiance isn’t something we chase. It’s something we remember. 🌿✨
This isn’t just a herbal guide — it’s a ritual of remembrance. A return to our worth. A tending of the wounds that once made us shrink.
🌿 Featuring:
Cerasee – ancestral cleanser, clears inherited heaviness
Sarsaparilla – blood strengthener, power restorer
Mugwort – dreamwalker, vision activator
Nettle – boundary builder, body nourisher
Tulsi (Holy Basil) – spirit lifter, nervous system soother
Rose – heart opener, beauty revealer
Each one is a reminder: We are already whole. From soil to soul — our healing is sacred!
✨ Which of these plant allies is calling to you right now?
Share in the comments — and drop a 🌹 if you’re reclaiming your radiance this summer.

Honestly, menopause wasn’t something I planned for — it slowly revealed itself through signs my body whispered… and more recently, shouted!
For a while, I thought I was one of the lucky ones! I’d managed to skip the hot flashes, night sweats, wild mood swings, and brain fog that everyone talks about. But this year? A rude awakening. A set of issues i wasn’t prepared for!
Almost like clockwork, starting in January, I began experiencing frozen shoulder, persistent joint and muscle pain, sleep struggles (the kind where you wake up randomly at 3am and can’t fall back asleep), and belly fat that simply won’t budge no matter what I try. There have been mood shifts too — ones I can’t always name or explain.
Needless to say, it hasn’t been pretty. And not knowing what to expect — or how to support myself through these drastic changes — made it all the more overwhelming.
And it’s a special kind of awakening when you’re no longer reading about these symptoms — but living them. For the first time, I started feeling “my age”!
But through it all, I’ve leaned deeply into the support of plants. With a well-stocked home apothecary, I’ve been experimenting with all kinds of herbal concoctions. And finally — slowly — I’m seeing positive shifts. Because herbs aren’t a quick fix. They work gently, over time, helping to bring the body back into harmony.
So whether you’re just entering perimenopause or deep in the transition, there are plant allies that can meet you where you are.
I’m finally learning to view menopause for what it really is: A transformation — not a decline. A sacred shift — a return to self. And with the right support, it can be beautiful. 😊
If you’re walking this path too, you’re not alone.
You’re invited to walk it with a little more ease, grace, and plant-powered support.

Popping in to say, Happy International Tea Day! ☕️
I’ve been a little MIA on this page lately. Honestly, I’ve been trying to find my footing when it comes to showing up in ways that feel good, aligned, and sustainable.
The thing is, I know I’ve created intentional, high-quality products to support both adults and kids, but being “salesy” just isn’t my thing!! It’s way out of my comfort zone! Which is pretty ridiculous, honestly, because I also know how helpful these gentle, nourishing remedies can be for anyone looking to support their well-being in a consistent, holistic way, so i should be promoting them!! 🤦🏽♀️
Life has also been full in general, and one thing that’s had my full attention and bringing me so much joy lately is revamping our home garden!
Gardening is actually what really got me interested in herbalism! Growing herbs and medicinal plants, and making remedies for family and friends makes me so happy! And not to mention, finally waking up and appreciating the immeasurable gifts from nature (so often growing wild right around us) has been life changing!
Anyway, today, I honor the ancient ritual of tea, a symbol of connection, healing, and harmony through the seasons. Here in NY, it’s unexpectedly chilly (56° and overcast?!), which makes it the perfect day to wrap my hands around a warm cup and sip with intention.
Here’s a little tea mantra to carry into our cup today:
With every steeped root, leaf, and petal, may I feel more rooted, more radiant, and more in rhythm with the Earth. May this cup remind me to slow down, tune in, and nourish the garden within!!
And may your tea be nourishing, your heart full, and your spirit grounded. Sending love! 💕

🌿 Your Body is Unique—Your Tea Should Be Too
If your body could create its own herbal blend… what would it ask for?
✨ Deep relaxation after long days?
✨ Gentle, daily digestive support?
✨ An energy boost—without the crash?
Every body is unique, and your tea should be too. That’s why I love crafting custom blends—intuitive, intentional, and made just for you.
Over the past year, I’ve blended countless teas for family and friends—especially for my own husband and daughters. Blends based on their zodiac signs, birthdays, full moons, cycle support, blood type, sleep, and so much more. Each blend has been as unique as the person it was made for. And now, I’m so excited to offer that same experience to you.✨
That’s why I’m also especially honored to share testimonial—someone who has experienced & enjoyed many of my blends. Knowing that these teas bring comfort and support to those closest to me makes this offering even more special.
So, whether you need seasonal support, cycle balance, better sleep, or just something that feels like a warm hug, we’ll create a tea as unique as you, designed with care.🫶🏽
If you could create the perfect herbal blend for yourself, what would it support? Let me know in the comments! 🌿

🌿 If Our Body Could Talk — What might it say?
✨ “Thank you for the rest & nourishment.”
✨ “I’m designed to adapt & recover.”
✨ “Healing isn’t instant—it’s a process, and that’s okay.”
✨ “Give me what I need, and I’ll take care of the rest.”
✨ “A little discomfort now makes me stronger later.”
After catching a bug this week, I find myself reflecting on how resilient our bodies truly are. While getting sick isn’t fun, it’s actually a natural part of how the immune system learns. Occasional illness isn’t a sign of weakness—it’s a sign that our body is actively responding, adapting, and building its defenses for the future.
That said, I’ve noticed that by consistently incorporating herbs into my wellness routine, my body moves through illness with more ease, symptoms feel milder, recovery is smoother, and I bounce back quicker. While I don’t love feeling under the weather, I trust that my immune system is doing exactly what it’s designed to do. And with the right nourishment, I can support the process rather than suppress it.
Key reminders:
✔️ Rest and hydration are irreplaceable.
✔️ Immune resilience isn’t about quick fixes or ‘boosting’—it’s built through consistent, holistic care: prioritizing sleep, nourishing foods, stress management, and supportive practices like herbs.
✔️ Mild, infrequent illness can reflect normal immune activity, but persistent issues warrant deeper support.
I view herbs as allies, not magic fixes. A warm cup of tea, extra sleep, and trusting my body’s capacity!!That’s my wellness foundation!
