Released Your QL? Don't Skip This Next Step!
LOW BACK PAIN? DO THIS IMMEDIATELY AFTER RELEASING YOUR QL π
You released the tight QL and finally created some lengthβbut if you don't build stability immediately after, your body will return right back to its old compensation pattern.

𦴠Why One Side Feels Tight𦴠Part 2: The Release
In Part 1, we looked at a common pattern where one side of the body becomes compressed between the rib cage and pelvis.
In this video, I demonstrate a side-lying technique designed to help reduce tension through the QL, obliques, and surrounding tissues while encouraging diaphragmatic breathing.
The goal is to create more space between the rib cage and pelvis and improve movement through the compressed side of the body.
Remember, releasing the area is only part of the solution. In Part 3, I'll show the stabilization exercise I use to help prevent the pattern from returning.

One of the biggest hidden costs in a massage practice is laundry. Between washing, drying, folding, and replacing worn-out linens, it adds up quickly.
I recently came across these disposable massage table sheets and thought they were an interesting option for:

Personally, I still appreciate the comfort and feel of traditional linens, but I can definitely see situations where disposable sheets could be useful.

𦴠This Tiny Muscle Can Make Your Entire Body Look Crooked | Part 1
Have you ever noticed:
β One shoulder higher than the other?
β One side of your lower back always feels tighter?
β A rib cage that seems more prominent on one side?
One possible contributor is the Quadratus Lumborum (QL), a deep muscle that connects the pelvis to the 12th rib.
When the QL becomes shortened or overactive on one side, it can bring the rib cage and pelvis closer together, creating compression through that side of the body. Over time, the rest of the body may adapt and compensate to stay upright and balanced.
In this video, I use my skeleton model to break down a common compensation pattern I frequently see in the clinic.

I recently added a rug to my massage room, and it's amazing how one simple change can completely change the atmosphere.
