I cannot believe I’m even having to post this but just a reminder about professional boundaries ✨

Today I received a text on my business phone from someone asking me to “make an exception” and provide a full body massage even though I politely explained many times that I’m not a massage therapist. At first, I genuinely had no idea I was even speaking with a man. The person was presenting themselves as a woman, and the conversation initially appeared to be completely normal.

That changed very quickly when I was sent an unsolicited, sexually explicit audio message.

Let me be very clear: this is NOT acceptable behavior.

My studio is a professional, safe space. I am a licensed esthetician providing legitimate skincare and beauty services. I will not tolerate sexual requests, inappropriate messages, explicit photos/audio, or anyone attempting to cross professional boundaries when it comes to Lauren or myself.

Please understand that the fact that I own my own business does not mean my boundaries are any different than they would be anywhere else. I deserve the same respect that you would give any other professional.

If you send something inappropriate to my business number, you will be blocked and you will not be welcomed as a client. No exceptions.

I’m sharing this because unfortunately, women in the beauty industry deal with this kind of behavior far more often than people realize. Please respect the person behind the business. There is a real human being on the other end of that phone.

And honestly, I hope the person this is directed toward sees this. I hope he realizes how completely inappropriate and disrespectful his behavior was, and I hope he feels at least some regret for making me completely uncomfortable and sick to my stomach. Absolutely shameful.

My business phone is not an invitation to cross personal or sexual boundaries.
