Teamlab Planets in Tokyo. Part of it is water you wade through and the rest is mirrored floor.
Then there's a room of giant glowing balloons and a garden of real orchids hanging down over your head. Two hours went like ten minutes.

Three hours into an install, everybody gets hungry.
So the Huntington Beach suite has a fridge with sparkling water, Coke and a few seltzers, w**e and something bubbly if the day calls for it, and a Nespresso going all day. The snack basket is there to be raided, not admired.
Help yourself when you're in. That's what it's there for.
What's your appointment drink order?
Extensions only make your own hair healthier if the weight is right for it.
Too much hair on a fine head, or a row placed where it pulls, and you get the opposite. That's why I check the foundation at every move up instead of just adding more.

Cami has a bob, and she wears extensions in it.
She did have k-tips for volume, but all those small pieces were fighting a cut that short. I took them out and put in one row of wefts instead, so there's less hardware and the hair moves the way a bob should.
Short hair is not a no. It's a placement question.

It's house music and 90s throwbacks in here, because I'm the only one who works here.
That's one of the better parts of having my own suite in Huntington Beach. Nobody else's rotation, no rules about it.

Your color can be matched.
Copper, a dark brunette, and five blondes that are nothing alike, all done in the Huntington Beach suite.

The dryer is the longest stretch of heat your hair takes all appointment.
So I keep that part short. This is the one I reach for, Leaf and Flower 7 Minute Blowout.

If your extensions hurt when you lie down, they're in the wrong spot.
People put up with that because they think it's part of it. A row set too tight or too high pulls on your own hair every time your head hits the pillow.
Elizabeth moved out of state and had a set done there. She travels back for it now.

They hand you a light pen and let you draw on the walls.
The wall is already covered in everyone else's stars and scribbles, and yours just joins it. Nobody's let me draw on a wall since I was a kid.
Tokyo keeps doing this to you. You walk in expecting to look at art and end up inside it.
What would you have drawn?
I've worn keratins, wefts, tapes and i-tips in my own hair, so I know how all of them feel.
That's most of why I specialized in this instead of adding it to my menu later. I got my first set at 22 and never really went back.
So when you sit down with me, I'm not guessing at what a method feels like to live with. I've had it in.
