It is hard to believe that it has been 10 years since Tyler Macleod passed away. September always brings back these memories - of a shocking, grief filled time.

Tyler with the dazzling smile, best friend to everyone he met, the boy who tagged after his brother, loved his baby sister, excelled in athletics had OD.

We were shocked.

Tyler came from a great family. His parents were coaches and volunteers. The ate dinner together, vacationed together.

This shook us to our core. If this could happen to Tyler and his family, it could happen to any family.

The collateral damage, to Tylers family, his friends, the community was both swift and painful. The Macleod family had been involved in everything. Everyone knew Tyler.

In our grief we pulled together and tied Red Ribbons everywhere. In our town, in other states, in Europe and South America.
Ten years later it still hurts.
Tyler should be 28.
It is impossible to know what Tyler might have accomplished in his life. He had such a great personality, he was so loved.

We are still in shock and miss him.

I has been almost 9 years since we lost Tyler and so many, many other young lives. We swore we would make a difference and we would educate, rehabilitate and fix this plague impacting this generation of kids.

But it just continues.

I follow Jodi Barber on Facebook and she is involved in trying to save these young adults and teens. A few days ago, she posted 2 beautiful souls were lost. This happens every week. Someones daughter, someones son, a sibling, a friend. Families left devastated. Communities in mourning.

What struck me in the article is that this (16 year old ) boy was according to him Mother..
"Sheltering at home. A drug dealer connected with him on Snapchat and gave him Fentanyl laced Xanax or Percocet (toxicology will tell) and he overdosed in his room. They do this because it hooks people even more and is good for business but it causes overdose and the kids don't know what they are taking."
