⚡️Light blonde highlights on dark brown hair tips —>
• build up your developer -
I start with 20vol in the back and work up to 40 by the time I get to the top. If you’re quicker start with 30vol
• pack on the lightener aka
SATURATION IS KEY 🔑 -
Don’t be afraid to add more, I always go back and do another coat.
• smudge roots are your friend -
I’m a huge smudge root fan on anyone but especially my brunette babes, that grow out can be super harsh so a smudge root helps you and the client. Soften that line of demarcation (remember that word 👩🏼‍🎓) and tone any brassiness at the root 👍🏼
• last but not least, TONER ☃️
I am not a fan of leaving highlights raw, but a toner does so many things, (even clear) seals the cuticle a bit (not completely but enough), gives you the tone you’re looking for whether that’s ashy, icy, honey, golden, etc., blends and softens, and adds shine. My fave toner is liquid Demi’s or the high speed toners. And I am loving the finish of the toning foam conditioners, I used the ash blonde here, but I also love the bright blonde. It makes the hair feel so soft and helps keep tone.
