Has it really been a year since I updated my introduction post? Time flies! If you’re new here—hi, I’m Savannah! I’m a second generation hair stylist (technically third!), and I’ve been doing hair for over four years now. I have a true passion for my career… I guess you could say it’s in my roots 😉🫶🏻

At work, I enjoy creating customized color and bespoke hair extension looks. Whether you’re looking for a quieter appointment or you’re ready to catch me up on what’s going on in your life, I’m so here for it!

Outside of the salon, you can usually find me and my husband wrangling our small zoo of 3 dogs and 2 cats. I love reading, binging the occasional tv show, and watching my husband play video games. You might also hear about my newest ADHD hyperfixation hobby—whatever that might be. Currently, I occasionally play Pokemon go with my brother and look forward to the daily NYT Wordle. My favorite book series currently is Dungeon Crawler Carl, even though I’ve always said I don’t enjoy fantasy books. 😅

If you’re looking for a stylist who is nonjudgmental, down to earth, and always strives to be their most authentic self then I’m the girl for you! I’m so grateful for the relationships I already share with my guests, and I’m always excited to continue creating more magic behind the chair. 🪄🪩

Our owner, Wendy, was out sick today, so I had the honor of representing the salon as manager and signing our inspection report… and guess what? It wasn’t the end of the world like anxiety would like you to believe 😉🫶🏻 Proud of myself for the growth I’ve had both as a person and stylist since graduating from TSPA 3 years ago and proud to work at a salon that cares about safety, sanitation, and licensing!

When installed improperly, extensions can cause traction alopecia, scalp irritation or pain, breakage, and even matting/tangling. Extensions should not be painful or stressful on your scalp.

A good extension install should be comfortable and easy to work with, even if it takes some getting used to the extra weight on your head. A great artist will make sure your sectioning is clean, your application isn’t too tight, and your stitching is neat. All of this helps protect your natural hair and scalp while also giving you a beautiful, intentional grow-out before your next move-up.

When choosing an extension artist, look at their work “under the hood,” not just their length and density transformations. Ask about their maintenance requirements, application method, and what you should expect throughout the life of your extensions.
