If you’re anything like me, your skin is super sensitive to shaving. Well, have you ever looked at the ingredients in your shaving cream? It might look something like this: 👇🏼

Let’s discuss a very popular toxic chemical found in lots of our personal care products(particularly nail polish and perfumes): PHTHALATES🚫⁣

Phthalates easily make their way into our bodies(sometimes in as little as 26 seconds) and are known hormone disrupters that alter the natural function of our endocrine system(hormone system). After several decades of scientific research, studies have shown that pregnant women, babies, and children are at particular risk 😢⁣

Let’s talk about something I am actually in the midst of myself, PLASTIC!! ⁣

Plastic contains things like BPAs and more that are known carcinogens.(even BPA free plastics still contain harmful synthetic chemicals) So when you put apple slices, carrots, granola, etc in a plastic bag those toxic chemicals are rubbing off on our food which we then put directly in our mouths and into our bodies, YIKES!! 😷⁣

For a while I’ve been eating really healthy and feeling great but what I’ve realized is an important next step for me is switching to glass or silicone in order to preserve my food in a safer way. 🌿⁣

And there’s a bonus to this, it’s also better for the environment👏🏼 less plastic=less pollution and less pollution=cleaner oceans which is extremely important!!⁣

So what have I been doing to make this simple? Well I bought some which now take place where I used to use plastic bags and I’ve become a huge fan of mason jars for storing things like fruit & nut mix, granola, seeds and things like that. 🙌🏼 ⁣

Now let’s talk about the hardest one... plastic straws 🤦🏻‍♀️ because let’s face it paper straws SUCK! So when I’m home it’s easy, I use my reusable straws, the problem is when I go out. 😬 Sometimes there is no option but to use the paper straw but if they have a plastic straw option I gotta be honest I usually use it, I just hate the way the paper straws crumble in my mouth 🙄 but the next step for me is remembering to bring my reusable straws in my lunch box so I can use those when I’m out! 😍⁣
