City of Huntsville Launches Survey on Proposed Entertainment District

HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS — The City of Huntsville is asking residents to weigh in on a major development concept that could reshape local recreation and tourism. City officials announced they are exploring the creation of a Huntsville Entertainment District, a multi‑use destination that may include a hotel, indoor waterpark, convention center, sports facility, and entertainment center. Huntsville may be an idealistic location for a large scale venue, due to its location between Houston and Dallas.

The concept, still in its exploratory phase, is aimed at expanding Huntsville’s options for recreation, family activities, and visitor‑driven economic growth. According to the city, the project could bring new leisure amenities while strengthening Huntsville’s position as a regional destination.

To gauge community interest and determine which features residents value most, Huntsville has launched an anonymous public survey in partnership with Hotel & Leisure Advisors, a national hospitality research firm. The survey asks participants about their preferences, anticipated usage, and overall support for the proposed amenities.

City officials say community feedback will play a key role in shaping next steps for the project.
