Let’s find a way to work with your hair, rather than against it! This client has hair that is curly in the back, straight in the front (and I see that often). But the hair in the front is not actually straight. It’s wavy and needs the right products and styling. By providing hold in the wavy areas and controlling frizz in the curly areas, we get a beautiful curl set that will last several days. We are letting the hair do what it wants to do…just better. 💁🏼‍♀️

I offer hour long styling sessions where you can learn what your hair needs with hands-on practice. And I’m always happy to educate and explain the what and how of hairstyling at your regular cut/color appointments. I’m starting back at the salon tomorrow. I am so grateful for the outpouring of love. Even if I couldn’t reply, I read all of your comments and messages. I truly have the best clients and friends. I’m still very much in the depths of grief, but I also need to do something that brings me joy. And doing hair does that. But please understand that I have to compartmentalize while I’m there. I can’t talk about Kal and do your hair (at least not well). So please know that I know you care, and tell me about what’s going on in your world instead of us talking about mine. 💛

Hi friends. It has been an impossibly hard week. And yet I know it would have been even more difficult without the outpouring of love we have received from the Huntsville community. I want to thank each of you who have reached out or donated or just held us in your hearts. I have felt a hammock of support holding us up.

I have not made any decisions yet about coming back to work. Y’all know I love my job. I will need to get back to my happy place at some point. Just not quite yet. When I do come back, I will have to rearrange the schedule quite a bit. I’ll be reaching out in a week or two to start figuring out what rescheduling will look like.

If you need more immediate attention, please don’t feel bad about going somewhere else. We do what we gotta do right now. And it’s all ok. I love you all so much. And I’ll be in touch soon. 💛

Tuesday afternoon we lost my son Kal. He died after being hit by a car a while riding his bike. He loved riding his bike. He loved life. And he was so very loved by so many people. I share this because I have known so many of you for so many years and you’ve heard my stories of Kal. I don’t know when I will be back at work. I don’t know when I’ll be able to talk about it without breaking down. So many of us who love Kal are hurting so badly right now. Please keep us in your thoughts.

Wedding designer extraordinaire has the most gorgeous blonde hair that I just lightly enhance with balayage. Soft, sunkissed, always stunning 🤩

I gave these gorgeous curls a reshape and some “curl-lites” (yeah, I made that up). But highlighting curly hair is different. Traditional highlights can get lost in the curls. These were hand painted ribbons, which I added while her root color was processing. Then I glossed it up with this gorgeous red tone. That smile says it all 🔥
