Buckle up for story time: why The Stylist Abroad exists.

Waaaay back when, I (Ashley) worked for other people & when it came to my attention they wouldn’t do certain cultural weddings ( b/ it was “too much hoopla”) or LGBTQ weddings ( b/ the didn’t support it) I firmly decided to leave & create something better for everyone.

Human rights has ALWAYS been at the center of The Stylist Abroad & will continue to. I’m loud about it because those who need to know can easily find us & those who want to speak out but are afraid it will impact their business may see it better aligns you with those who share the same morals.

These aren’t politics - there’s are human rights.

Empathy doesn’t exist in a vacuum. You can have beautiful weddings and call out authoritarian activities.

I urge everyone, especially every wedding professional and double especially every luxury wedding professional to speak out. Your platform has power.

And to be blunt … silence condones violence. Don think for a second it’s not noticed.

Lashes : strip vs partial vs clusters/individuals … 👁️Which is “best”?

🚨TRICK QUESTION!🚨

First off, Strip lashes almost always need to be trimmed so if they were ever “pokey” it’s because they weren’t trimmed. So assuming that they are …

It terms of what’s “best” is really going to depend upon your desired look & your eye shape.

Clusters/ individuals are more subtle and natural. They’re also great from monolid or hooded eyes.

Partials can give a more foxy look and can work with almost all eye shapes. Monolid eyes may need trimming depending the length of the band.

Strip can get you to glam fastest ( but there’s also natural options) but they must be trimmed and can not work as well for comfort and longevity on monolids or eyes with a prominent curve in their lid.

But here’s the best part … we carry ALL of them! Why? To create a custom look for your needs & wants. We don’t expect you to know what’s best-that’s our job! And we don’t want you to be excluded from a look because you need a different tool/method.

A HMUA saying they work with all skin tones & hair textures without photos to show … is a red flag 🚩

And it’s low-key racist, or complicit at least! What I mean is that the education(including free) is out there & models (Including randos) are out there. There’s really NO excuse.

But instead of trying to argue with them at their insistence of “trust me” … take note & if photo proof isn’t there - RUN! 🏃🏾‍♀️
