IT’S FINALLY HERE! 🎉 📚
Introducing The Science Behind the Style, an advanced trichology based educational guide created specifically for beauty professionals. Designed for hairstylists who want to go beyond performing services and feel more confident recognizing and understanding the scalp and hair loss concerns they encounter behind the chair.
After years of working with clients, I know firsthand how many questions arise that beauty school never prepared us to answer. That experience inspired me to develop the resource I wish I had earlier in my career, one that brings scalp health education, practical knowledge, and professional guidance together in one place.
Super excited to finally share it with you! 🥹
✨ OFFICIALLY LAUNCHING OCTOBER 21!
She was right not to braid it. But maybe not for the reason you think. 👀
What looks like a “dirty scalp” can actually be a sign of an underlying scalp condition.
I teach hairstylists how to better understand scalp health and hair loss, and become more aware of what they’re seeing behind the chair. 🔎

Nobody talks about what happens underneath the style.
This was her scalp after taking down her cornrows.
People focus so much on protecting their hair that they forget about their scalp.
The reality is, if you're already dealing with flakes, buildup, itching, or irritation, putting your hair away for a few weeks doesn't make those things disappear.
In many cases, it makes them worse.
A style may be protecting your strands, but if your scalp is struggling underneath it, is it really protective? 🫣
Protective style = hair health + scalp health.
This is why scalp assessments matter. The first step is understanding what's really going on.

“Can I grease my scalp?”
No‼️
At least not if your goal is to address what’s happening in this video. One of the biggest mistakes people make is assuming every flaky scalp is dry.
It’s not.
Many scalp concerns need proper exfoliation, balancing, and targeted care, not more oil/wax sitting on top of the problem.
That’s why understanding your scalp matters.
The right products depend on the REAL issue you’re trying to solve.
Comment PRODUCT GUIDE and I’ll send you the products I recommend for a scalp like this.
No matter what's happening with your scalp, I'm here to support you.
This is one of my longtime clients. We've been working together on her scalp health journey for some time now, but like many people dealing with scalp conditions, setbacks can happen.
Instead of guessing, we took a closer look.
Take a peek inside her appointment and see what happens when we slow down, assess what's really going on, and create a plan from there.
Because sometimes the answers are hiding in plain sight.

Q: How do you exfoliate your scalp?
A: Start with the Pre-Exfoliating Scalp Treatment to loosen tough buildup before shampooing. Then use out Scalp Exfoliation Tool to lift up buildup. Finish by cleansing with shampoo.
This is why I always say your scalp needs more than shampoo. 🗣️
What other questions do you have about scalp exfoliation?
You washed your hair two days ago and your scalp already looks like this.
I know how frustrating that feels.
But before you assume your condition is getting worse, consider this:
The flakes may have come back because they never fully left.
A lot of people wash their hair regularly and still have layers of buildup, scale, and dead skin attached to the scalp. So while the hair feels clean, the scalp was never properly cleared.
That's why the itching returns.
That's why the flaking comes back so quickly.
That's why it feels like nothing is working.
The goal isn't just to wash your scalp.
The goal is to remove what's been sitting on it.
One of the biggest shifts my clients make is learning that cleansing and clearing are not the same thing. A scalp can be washed and still not be fully cleared.
That's why I focus on scalp exfoliation before cleansing. If buildup, scale, and dead skin are still attached to the scalp, shampoo can only do so much.
I put together a free scalp guide that breaks down the most common scalp conditions and helps you understand what's actually happening on your scalp.
Comment SCALP GUIDE and I'll send it straight to your DMs.

The flakes didn't come back.
They never left.
They just weren't fully removed.
Most people are treating the symptoms they can see while layers of buildup, scale, and dead skin remain attached to the scalp.
So for a while, things look better.
Then the itching, flaking, and irritation return.
Not because the problem came back.
Because it was never completely cleared in the first place.
