I’ve noticed a consistent pattern in my practice.
I’ve had quite a few women in midlife come in with the same complaint: their neck, shoulders, and upper back feel constantly tight. Not just sore, but heavy, dense, and almost impossible to relax.
A few clients have described it as feeling like concrete.
When I work with them, I notice the tissue can feel that way, too: dense, guarded, and often needing more time and patience to soften.
The menopausal transition brings a lot of changes to the body, including hormonal shifts, changes in sleep and recovery, and increased muscle and joint aches and stiffness for many women.
If you’ve been experiencing more tightness than usual, you’re absolutely not alone.
I don’t like to force my way into already guarded tissue. I start slowly, warming everything up with myofascial work, then gradually work deeper with slow, intentional strokes. I may add cupping or stretching when it feels helpful.
I’ve had so many clients tell me they feel lighter, more open, or like their shoulders can finally drop again.
I can’t promise one massage will fix the problem, but I’ve seen consistent treatment make a meaningful difference for some of my clients.
If you’re in perimenopause or menopause and your upper body feels like it’s carrying a little too much, I see you. 🤎

Some post-massage words that have stuck with me. 🤍
I’m so grateful for the trust people place in me and that I get to do this work.

A little love for the hands. 🤲
If you work with your hands all day, spend hours at a computer, drive a lot, lift weights, or tend to carry tension in your hands and forearms, this part of your massage can be so beneficial.
It can help ease tightness, encourage circulation, and give those hardworking muscles and joints a chance to relax.
It’s the smallest details that can make a treatment feel extra restorative. ✨
I have a few openings this week + more availability next week.
Now’s a good time to book a little “you” time. 🤍

September always seems to bring a shift in pace. Summer starts winding down, routines settle back in, and the calendar fills up again. I love having this space as a place where you can step out of all of that for a bit.
Whether your body is asking for focused work, your nervous system needs a reset, or you simply want an hour or two where you don’t have to do anything at all - there’s room for you here.
September appointments are open. I’d love to take care of you. 🤎

A little extra attention for the areas that need it most.
Cupping uses gentle suction to lift the skin and underlying tissues, increasing circulation to the area and providing a different type of input to the muscles and surrounding tissues. It can feel especially nice when certain areas are feeling tight, sore, or restricted.
One of my favorite places to use it is between the shoulder blades, especially when there’s a lot of tension being held there. I also love incorporating it around the low back and hips when those areas need extra love.
It’s not something every body needs, but for the right person, it can be a really nice complement to hands-on work.
Cupping can be included in your massage upon request. 🤍
The first few moments of a massage are all about settling in. These slow, grounding movements give us both a moment to breathe, connect, and transition into the session.
Before I start working into specific areas, I like to give the body a little time to soften into the table. It gives me a chance to feel where there’s tension, notice how the body is moving, and get a sense of what it needs that day.
From there, I can begin working more specifically where it’s needed.
It’s a small part of the session, but it sets the tone for everything that follows. 🤍

I’d love to care for you 🤍 I have two openings next week:
8/25 at 2:15pm
8/26 at 11:00am
Consider this your sign to slow down. 🤍
A massage with Leah is time to quiet the noise, release the tension + let someone else take care of you for a while.
Unhurried. Restorative. Exactly the kind of reset your body has been asking for. ✨

So how often should you schedule a massage?
For most people, once a month feels really good. It gives your body a consistent rhythm and gives you a little time to step away from everything else.
But there’s flexibility in that.
Maybe you’re still feeling great when your next appointment rolls around and you can go a little longer between sessions. Or maybe you find yourself wishing you had come in sooner because the tension is starting to creep back in.
Let that be your guide. 🤍
There’s no need to follow a perfect schedule or feel like you’re falling behind. The best routine is the one that fits into your life and feels good to you.
If massage is something that helps you feel more like yourself, pre-booking your appointments can be a simple way to keep that time for yourself on the calendar.

It’s usually not one big thing.
It’s the shoulders that have been tense for weeks. The neck that’s always a little stiff. The low back that doesn’t love sitting all day.
It’s all the little things you’ve gotten used to feeling that eventually start to feel normal.
But just because something has become familiar doesn’t mean you have to keep living with it.
Massage can be a way to address that tension, create some relief, and remind your body what feeling good can feel like. 🤍
I have 2 openings this Monday — I’d love to see you there.
Pressure + movement + a little traction
If you’ve been on my table, there’s a good chance you’ve experienced this one.
Our hips and glutes can get so tight from sitting, driving, working at a desk…basically just existing!
I love combining pressure with movement through the hip to work through those tissues, then finishing with a little traction.
Your hips deserve some attention too. 🤍
