I specialize in traditional locs, loose natural hair and sisterlocks (trainee). No DM’s please!

Both are beautiful but there is a difference.⁣
⁣⁣⁣⁣
- Installation: There are different methods to installing Sisterlocks based on your curl pattern. Microlocks are normally started by installing two strand twists. Some use braids but I don’t recommend starting with braids. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
- Maintenance: The tools used for maintenance are different. A special tool is used to retighten Sisterlocks. With microlocks, you can interlock using a crotchet hook. The is another option. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
- Products: With sisterlocks, there are products only issued by the company designed to maintain your hair. For example, the Sisterlocks starter shampoo is highly recommended for the first year while your hair settles (locing process). ⁣⁣You have more options with products if you have microlocks. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣⁣
***Bonus Tip: Lastly, the best way to verify if your stylist specializes in Sisterlocks is to make sure their name is listed on the Sisterlocks site. Beware of imposters. ⁣🙃👍🏾⁣

A snippet of my work.⁣
⁣⁣
I hit the ground running the beginning of 2020. I was so excited and began to see growth only for the pandemic to slow me down. Discouraged is an understatement but it was preparation for something else. I shut down my business in MD as a door opened up to take my love for beauty elsewhere.⁣
⁣⁣
Looking forward to meeting you soon! ⁣

Hey Everyone! Since I have some new followers allow me to reintroduce myself, my name is O! I will never get tired of that 😂😉.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
I love Jesus, my family, and my 4.5 friends. I’m a PG County girl but Naija runs through my veins 🇳🇬. I love food, dancing, humming, laughing, and good conversations. ⁣⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣⁣
I love beauty and encouraging people to embrace theirs from the inside out. It has always been my passion but when you’re Nigerian there are 4 career choices (lawyer, doctor, engineer, or shame the family). I went to college with the intention of going to law school afterward. Made it to my senior year and I realized being a lawyer wasn’t for me. I spent my 20’s not sure of what I wanted to do and being too afraid of stepping out of the norm. ⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
I needed a side hustle to pay off my student loan so I got a job in a salon. It reignited my love for hair. Hearing my mentor’s story of how she quit her 9 to 5 to pursue her passion encouraged me that it is possible. One day, I’ll kiss the 9 to 5 life goodbye.⁣⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣⁣
That’s my story guys. Look forward to building with you! I’m closed for now but will reopen in the fall at a new location. ⁣

⁣Locs 101: What do these three things have in common? Buildup. ⁣

I get it, you want that fresh, laid retwist. The secret is the technique. Our hair is very pliable when wet. There are some locticians who just retwist locs with water but you can’t tell because of their technique (palm rolling, comb twist, and loc smithing). I prefer to use a light product that contains none of what I mentioned. In addition, if you use clips it will also help to keep it in place before you go under the dryer to set. At the end all be all, it’s all about the technique. ⁣

Two-strand twists pinned into an elegant bun by yours truly. Some of you know me and bobbi pins don’t mix. I value my sleep. This time around, I’ve had a change of heart. 😂⁣

Buns are so simple but regal when it’s done right. ⁣

Hey Guys!!! Hope all is well with you. I’m closely watching the updates as it pertains to COVID-19. I am aware that barber shops and hair salons can now service essential employees. However, I believe that it is too soon to reopen so I’m waiting it out. I will remain closed until further notice. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Please stay safe. I know this is taking a toll on everyone spiritually and mentally. My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone during this time. We are all impacted and connected in more ways than we realized. May this time draw us closer to God and to each other. Trials are difficult to go through but trials are also temporary. ⁣
⁣⁣
If you have any questions or concerns, do not hesitate to reach out to me. I am here to help during this time. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Until we meet again. ⁣⁣
