I just wanted to put out a little appreciation post for my #1 supporter this Mother’s day: my mom!
My mom was my first ever client, and even was the one who suggested that I became a nail tech. I wouldn’t have been able to get to where I am today without her (and my dad’s) support, and she continues to support me to this day. I love you mom, Happy Mother’s Day🫶

Scroll to see her nails throughout the years!

We all love it when our nails last! Nail aftercare is just as important as the nail appointment itself. Proper aftercare ensures that your manicure lasts and keeps your natural nail healthy. 🙂‍↕️💅

🪩 What’s the difference between a soft gel and a hard gel?

🪩 Hard gel is more rigid and less flexible, but durable. Almost all hard gels are structured or builder gels. It’s best for long nails, weak or soft nails, and reshaping downward sloping nails as some stronger hard gels can be used for extensions without needing a tip or natural nail underneath. Hard gels usually have a higher viscosity (thicker) and some self level while others don’t. Hard gel must be removed by a professional, as it cannot be soaked in acetone and must be filed off.

🪩 There are many different types of soft gels, from gel polishes to builder gels. Today we’ll focus on soft builder gels. Soft builder gels are flexible and versatile. It’s best for normal nails, more flexible nails, short nails, and short extensions that don’t go too far past the free edge and finger. Soft builder gels have a lower viscosity (thinner) and self level very easily. Many brands of soft builder gels are very widely known to clientele by brand/product names, such as Luminary Nail Systems or The Gel Bottle (BIAB). Soft gels can be removed via soaking in acetone.

🪩 I cannot stress this enough, all these products are created for professionals. If you wish to do gel manicures at home, I still recommend going to a professional.

Why is it important to oil our cuticles?? The benefits are endless, but here’s the most important:
• Your manicure will last longer
• It repairs and hydrates dry and damaged skin
• It stimulates nail growth
• Those pesky brittle and weak nails will be strengthened
• There are built in antibacterial properties
• Most importantly, it gives your nails (and cuticles) a healthy glow due to its moisturizing properties!!

I HIGHLY recommend oil, you can never go wrong with all the yummy scents! Your nails will be sure to thank you. To see inventory available for purchase, ask at your next appointment or DM for more info!!
