Tik Tok is jam packed with “advice” that isn’t “good advice”

If your daughters are starting to explore make up or interested in skincare take them to a pro. I can sit for hours and shake my head at what I’ve seen.

Did you know the Kardashians do their own make up on a daily basis? Yes they have pros on hand for special events but these girls normally do it themselves. Kris Kardashian would take the girls once they reached a certain age for a formal make up lesson. That way each girl learned proper technique.

SO many people will comment “I don’t know how to do make up”. That’s OK if you’ve never been taught then no you don’t. Women’s make up doesn’t look good on someone unless they’ve applied it properly. So where we often find ourselves asking “what foundation do you use”. Ask “how do you apply your foundation?”

Different skin types require different preparation, different levels of hydration. Take painting a wall as an example. If you paint one wall and have a pro paint the other…he will finish first and it will look like a pro did it…..because he paints walls for a living.

So take the time to educate your girls. Most will wear make up their entire lives so learning technique is important. ❤️ get off of Tik Tok

How much is too much?

Botox, fillers and all things injectable’s. How much is too much? Well sorry but if you’re happy then it’s never ever too much. It’s all about your own reflection and so if when you step up to that mirror if you’re happy then you’re doing it right.

What can happen though and take it as a warning…If you want to fill those lips, lash extensions, Botox…You do “get used” to your new look over time and so that little plump lip you loved so much when you got filler for the first time…well you may decide you need more and then maybe a little more…So every few months when you’re due you ask your injector for a little more because they’re not looking as plump to you as they used to. 😊 Again girlfriend if you like what you see…ROCK IT

I read that a drug store dupe for IL Makiage was this, Revlon Colorstay Full coverage. Anyone that knows me KNOWS I LOVE REVLON FOUNDATION!!! I cannot stress that enough it’s the holy grail of drugstore foundations in my opinion.

So of course I ran out, I bought it and OMG I’m returning the IL Makiage. One it’s $12 for Revlon and two never ever ever have I had a foundation cover my redness like this bad boy right here. OMG I literally was like OMG putting it on.

Now it is Matte which I am not a huge fan of matte especially on aging skin and especially during the summer so that being said it will probably not be my go to everyday right now. Special occasions a must and fall winter and spring for sure!

It says it can wear up to 24 hours. We will see. I applied it today on purpose because I’ll be home and I’m curious to see how it handles.

RUN and get this.

There is also a whipped foundation which is supposed to be a lighter version of this. I’m go big or go home I want full coverage but if you don’t that may be for you.

Tip: a little goes a very long way. I personally think I applied way too much today using it for the first time I didn’t know. You literally need a dab. It goes far.

IL MAKIAGE FULL REVIEW:

So I’ve had it on a few hours now and I’m happy with how it’s holding up.

I have combination skin so I‘m dry and or very oily. It held up very well.

One thing I love is you get 14 days to try the foundation and return if you’re not satisfied. What company do you know rhat does that? You can’t walk into a store and buy a foundation and bring it back. So really for all of you interested it cost me $6 in shipping to try it.

It’s overall on the high side price wise. Over $40 for the bottle. So if you’re not someone who is addicted to make up or don’t want to spend that much I’m going to add a few drug store and luxury lines that I would suggest in place of this.

Maybelline Fit Me….I LOVE this foundation I use it in my professional kit. It’s my go to for clients. Runs ridiculously cheap too $3-$5 per bottle depending where you shop.

Revlon Colorstay…this is MY foundation. I have used it for years. No matter what I buy or try I always end up back here at ole faithful. Little higher than maybelline at $11-$14 but still a steal

Estee Lauder Double Wear: I find their foundations once they set, set a shade lighter so keep that in mind but otherwise a great full coverage foundation at around $40

Make Up Forever: I use their foundation in the summer…it’s more dewy and lighter. Can’t go wrong with this line in general.

So overall I’d say I could go either way. If youre curiosity is really killing you try it. For $6 shipping and free return why not.
Otherwise there are a lot of great brands out there that are just as good.

IL MAKIAGE application and color review:

So talk about a match. I don’t know what sorcery they use but they matched my skin tone FOR sure.

Over all coverage is in the middle ground. If you like a light, smooth coverage this is for you. Now when you take the online quiz it asks you all your preferences…Matte finish, full or light coverage.

I don’t like Matte finish on aging skin. So I always recommend going satin or dewy for older women. I chose a satin finish and found it does lean towards matte but I don’t hate it.

Their foundation brush is awesome, application was a breeze and smooth.

I did have to apply a second light coat over some problem areas I have currently but no biggit I do that with every other foundation I use.

I am impressed with how it sits on the skin. It’s not cakey or blotchy. So I love that.

Now the wear test…..let’s see how long this lasts.

Ok ladies….I did it. I but the advertisement bullet, they got me…I bought IL MAKIAGE

I had to, I’m an addict and I’m always up for the “next best thing”.

For starters how in the heck their quiz matched my skin tone I will never know. So I’m impressed right out of the box, literally. Aside from having a tan it’s a match.

I already did my basic make up for the day or I’d have pics but I’ll save them for tomorrow. Full review after a day of wear. I am SO excited to try this.

Don’t forget a hat is a great way to protect your face from those long days in the sun too!!!

Sunscreen under your makeup, light foundation with an SPF and a hat….keeps those dreaded wrinkles away a little longer 😋

It’s that time of year, FINALLY.

Just to give a brief rundown on sunscreen so you and your kiddos have the best protection and don’t feel the burn.

SPF (Sun Protection Factor). We all look for the highest and think the larger the number, the better…STOP RIGHT THERE. That little number is actually time. SPF 30 for example means 30 minutes until your skin will begin to redden. SPF 50 is well you guessed it 50 mins.
You in essence need to reapply at that time for best results. Especially if sweating or swimming.

Sun Bum is a GREAT line. Zinc based this sunscreen sits on the skin and gives great protection against both UVA and UVB rays. UVA rays are what cause you to age….ewww and UVB is the burn. Thanks but no thanks to both.
Sun Bum is great for sensitive skin, acne prone skin and their line is top of my personal list for little ones.

Whatever brand you choose just remember that SPF is time…..and to be realistic I’m a mom. If my kids are swimming GOOD LUCK reapplying every 30-50 mins. Not gonna happen. So when your kids run up for a snack or a drink. Use that pause as an opportunity to reapply. All we can do. Apply often and thoroughly!!!
