Balayage is the go-to for a seamless, sunk-kissed look during the warmer months. It not only allows for a beautiful blend while you grow it out but it also allows you the flexibility of coming back for routine touch ups! Typically, my balayage guests come in once in the spring and I won’t see them for another color service until the fall when it’s closer to the holidays. It’s honestly a perfect look for all of your summer vacations and pop-up events!

A summer chop + a “just do what whatever you think is best for the color” consultation makes for one incredible transformation. 😍

As your professional hairstylist I don’t mind making the hard decisions when it comes to color, cut, or a style. Typically, I just need a general direction - do you want to be lighter or darker, shorter or longer, how committed are you to returning to the salon for upkeep, etc.? Once I have a general direction of what you’re hoping for I’ll work my magic and you can finally just sit and relax for a couple of hours. Summertime is near and we are all (im)patiently waiting for warmer weather and sun kissed skin. 😉☀️ While we are all wanting to achieve a lighter and brighter appearance for summer, we need to remember that Sun In is not the answer. But why? Let me educate you a little about Sun In:

▪️ The main ingredients are hydrogen peroxide and lemon juice. While these ingredients will definitely lighten your hair, you’re not going to have any control on how the hair lifts.

▪️ Sun In does not have the technology that professional lighteners have to help combat how dry the hair can get after the lightening process. This could potentially leave your hair dry and frizzy - resulting in a higher risk for breakage in the long run.

▪️ Everyone has an underlying pigment within their hair, whether you color your hair or have a head full of natural hair strands. The darker your hair is, the more of a red undertone your hair has. The lighter your hair is, the more of a yellow tone your hair has. When you apply Sun In to your hair, you are exposing each underlying pigment. This will ultimately result in a brassy, uneven tone, especially on darker hair.

You may be saving a little money up front by using Sun In but you will be spending even more money at the salon to correct your hair once it’s all said and done. Just leave the blonding to me! I will get you as light as possible, while protecting the integrity of your hair. You’ll thank me later. 😉
