Full moment of transparency. My next chapter is scaring the entire F**K outta me. I feel like I’m in a place where passion and necessity are at a cross and my survival instincts are starting to kick in. I’ve committed to seeing what the next month brings and that’s about as far as I can see right now. The remainder of what I have available for April outside of what my clients that pay for early access have booked will be available tomorrow at noon and I’ll tell you now. It’s SLIM. As a stylist I wish I could make myself available for everyone that wishes to book. As a person I’m asking for grace as I figure out what’s what over the next few months. As an educator if there ever comes a time I have to do what’s necessary for myself and my family, know it’s one of the hardest things I’ve had to do. I wear a lot of hats and they are all attempting to be the main character in the story right now 😩 just send a few up for me.

August books are now open. Be advised I will be on vacation 8/14-8/24 so availability is limited and is exactly what you see. Also September booking will open 8/25 which is the last Monday in August.

Inspiration Pics- The ins and out and what you may not have thought about

1. Texture and Density are important to the overall look of a style. If a client has very dense hair but send a pic of someone with fine/thin hair the outcome with not be the same and vice versa. As a stylist you may have to adjust any number of things to recreate a certain look!
2. Length Matters. Length Matters. LENGTH MATTERS. Most styles are easy to replicate on mid length to longer hair, but shorter hair may make recreating certain styles difficult.
3. Head size and shape vary client to client. When a client ask for an “ Exact Replica “ most times they do not take in consideration the hair/head they have compared to those in the pics. You may have add a few extra braids or even take a few out to give the best version of the style that suits your clients head shape and size
4. Be up front and honest about your SKILL SET. Never oversell to underwhelm. If a client sends you a style you’re not sure you can replicate be honest. Most times they will give you the chance to practice . Client appreciate our honesty!

Any time I hear the words JUST LIKE THE PIC I always do a little eye roll 🙄 bc now I gotta break it down to you on why it probably won’t be just like the pic. But I will take the pic as INSPIRATION and use it to create a look that fits them perfectly!
