Bittersweet Post:

I made a video. I’ve written nearly a 4 page letter. I wrote a 5 sentence post. None of them felt right. I’ve pondered how and what to say all weekend. I’m just going to wing it.

This last Saturday April 30th I shut and locked the salon door for the last time. I could give you my list of reasons, but really, sometimes you just have to know when it’s time to walk away. I might come back to doing hair again, I might not. Who knows! (Side note, I need a job, so if someone wants to hire me, that’d be great! Ha!)

Ali Maxwell Hair was one month shy of being 10 years old. There are no words really to explain my gratitude to each and every person that sat in my chair. I’ve met a lot of people over the years and some have become really great friends. The majority of you came to me when I was working out of my house. You’ve been with me through all of my ups and downs. I am forever grateful for the grace and support that I received.

I feel like I could go on and on. Please know this decision has not been easy on me. Not even a little easy. I was hesitant all the up until I handed the new tenant the keys. It was time though.

Thank you, thank you. From the bottom of my heart, thank you all for everything. Now, on to my next adventure..whatever that may be.

!!!AMH CLIENTS!!!
I’m asking for a favor. I know so many people that know so many people. So keep reading. Please!
I’m speaking about Jordan simply because I know him and his family. I do not know the others. However, they all need our help. The Turner family is a well respected family in my circle. I have nothing but love for these people, we go way back. Ryan & Amanda’s son, Jordan is a Senior basketball player at Cardinal Ritter. Jordan and others attended a party where drugs and alcohol were present. None of them drank or did any drugs. They passed a drug test. They PASSED. The rules are quite vague-as schools typically will do. (Clears throat) Jordan, after realizing what was at the party, left as soon as he could after calling home to let his parents know. He arrived home under 30 minutes later, I believe. Jordan Turner and the other boys are not allowed to play at the sectional game tomorrow. Jordan passed the drug test and left next to immediately. He did everything he possibly could to follow the rules. And still is not allowed to play. Jordan is a really wonderful kid. He’s a phenomenal ball player and has worked incredibly hard to get to where he is at. If you know me, you know basketball has been a large part of my life. I love the game the way I love my boys. Jordan loves the game. Jordan earned his right to play! Someone out there has to have some connection to someone. This injustice can NOT go unnoticed. We want our youth to succeed. They are our future! This is not how you treat them. Or the game! Cardinal Ritter and the Catholic community are failing these children. It’s embarrassing and shameful.
I’m asking all AMH clients, friends and followers to share this post. Call someone. Reach out to whomever you may know that could help these families. The Turner family is my family. Help me, help them.

So..the most perfect shade of blonde was completely destroyed by a stylist at one of the really fantastical, upscale salons in Carmel. First picture is my work that took a very very long time to achieve. The middle pictures are what they left her with. Broken, unrepairable hair that took me a year to perfect. In my almost 17 years of doing hair I’ve never ever seen damage so bad. The last pictures are what I was willing to do to “fix” it temporarily. I gave her the formula to give to the stylist for the sole purpose of keeping her color exactly how it was. 🤦‍♀️ So much for that.
Anyway, I’m happy to be back! 🥰
