PART 1 ❣️ is a critical read by Timothy Snyder ✊ I’m showing off the intro paragraph page for each chapter to give you a taste of important reminders for the times. The book is physically small and each chapter is only 3-5 pages, so if you’ve been wanting to read a book but struggle with the attention span to make it through a thick boi, this is a great option.

Evelyn R. Carter, Ph.D. | DEI expert, Author, Speaker book reading/signing was very much worth the mini adventure to Columbus OH 😍📖 Two Dollar Radio Headquarters was a cozy venue for a warm audience
Now that I’ve gotten started into her book, HIGHLY RECOMMEND “Was That Racist?” especially for anybody that would benefit from a kind but firm introduction to challenging their own and other’s racial biases➡️racism - starting with learning the definitions and difference between the two!!! Loving the evidence based social psychology insights, the illustrative anecdotes, and concrete examples of language and strategies for interrupting racism in one’s self and every day interactions.

Might’ve been a lil excited

I love love loved her metaphor? of anti-racist practice as gardening. She definitely planted seeds of knowledge within me years ago across the nail table and within her college social psych class. I continue to be inspired by her to prune and fertilize the garden, in efforts to encourage blossoms of action towards dismantling racism.

Fun fact: I once wanted to be a makeup artist in high fashion, runway like patmcgrathreal
