Sunscreen is as important to your skin as water is to your body!

Without sunscreen, you are basically subjecting your skin to the trauma of the weather, the sun, air pollutants - and if you wear make up that's a WHOLE NOTHA ISSUE!!! And don't think just because you have melanated skin that you don't need sunscreen. You ABSOLUTELY DO!!!

I prefer Black Girl Sunscreen because it's made for black women by a black woman. It's not heavy, it's not cakey and it doesn't make your skin look chalky and pale.

Put it under your make up right after you moisturizer BEFORE your primer or if you aren't getting all glammed up, make sure it's the last layer of product on your skin before you leave the house.

Signs that you may need a dermaplaning treatment are if you have:

You should NOT get a dermaplaning treatment if you have the following:

❌Severe sunburn
❌Active breakouts

Your skin care regimen needs BOTH oil and lotion. Not one over the other.

First, make sure you clean your face for at least 60 seconds, twice a day. Then, you need a good moisturizer set. (Hit me up for recommendations).

I know we like to use oils instead of lotions in the colder months, but oil is usually a barrier AFTER you use your moisturizer. Get a good moisturizer with hyaluronic acid and be sure to moisturize your face AND neck! (We neglect our neck but it ages just as much as the skin on our faces).

So basically... get you a good moisturizer set!

Believe it or not, people don't really know how to properly apply sunscreen.

I see people putting in like lotion, rubbing it into their skin all rough and now applying it to the areas that need the most protection (like your neck, chin, and eyelids).

There's also a "way" to put on sunscreen to get the most out of it.
