Over the past few weeks I've seen quite a few people inquire about massage therapy and just thought I'd do an updated post so that I end up in the feed when folks hop on Facebook looking for massage therapist in the area!

My Name is Valerie and if I look like a familiar face, I might be! I've worked 'some of everywhere' in and around Columbia for the past 7 years and I have finally settled in a location that allows me to operate my practice on my own terms without having to pass expenses on to clients, or preform a nonsensical menu!

My practice is currently accepting new clients and I encourage you to visit my profile to get a better idea of my practice and see if we might be a good fit!

Massage is not a luxury, it's your wellness! And nobody is going to prioritize yourself like you.

This is a tiny bit closer to show time than I would have preferred, but for the sake of work flow and continuity, I have changed my booking system to one that will more easily allow for Shawn and I to work in the same space and efficiently accommodate both clienteles.

Please, download the MassageBook app and create a profile, fill out a health intake and leave a card on file and everything is all set for your next appointment!

Having a card on file streamlines the checkout process to the point to where the only thing you really have to do is show up for your appointment, and that’s kind of it! Card reader coming soon!

Shawn and I have spent the past couple of weeks planning, organizing, (cleaning!) and taking the time to ensure that we entered this new venture mindfully and intentionally.

When you know, you know!

And I immediately saw the beautiful and deeply nutrient being before me and knowing that I have so much to learn from her.

The Ritual will be ran as it’s own entity operating in the space of, and in partnership with The Well SC

I will (finally!) be preforming my own menu

meaning:

Tip-less Services.

No routines, just fully customized, integrative bodywork.

No additional charges for hot stones, essential oils, additional tools or wellness enhancements.

All appointments include health intake, full service time, post-massage debrief, along with note keeping across all visits.

Booking will open at the end of this week with appointments starting the week of the 23rd.

This upcoming weekend will conclude my pop-up event at ! It has been a wonderful experience inside of such a cozy workspace. The weather definitely derailed things a bit but it’s been a wonderful time regardless 💞

Hey Sumter! We’ve been planning a sweet surprise 🍪

Every Sunday and Monday from January 18th to February 2nd I will be massaging out of on Bultman!

I will have more details pertaining to the service available, pricing, time, and booking requirements before the books open on the January 8th.

Honestly, before I get into ANY of that, I want to give my most heartfelt thanks to Kia Smith (owner of Sweet Success Bakery!) for affording me this amazing oppertunity and for so warmly welcoming me into her space.

I just published my first article on Substack! I've decided so start publishing as a way of blending my massage education and experience with personal narrative.

While I will likely never publish something so personal again, I always believe it best to start a story at the beginning.

It's all educational massage content and yapping from this point out!

To my wonderful clients in Chapin; thank you for your patience and understanding during this recent transition.

I want to sincerely apologize for the sudden departure from my previous location. Due to the terms of my former employment contract, I am not able to reach out directly to let you know I’ve moved, so I’m still working on getting the word out!

The decision to leave came quickly, but it was made with a deep commitment to maintaining the quality of care and intention you’ve come to expect from me, and that I expect from myself. While I’m grateful for the experience, I wasn’t always able to work in the way that aligns with my personal standards, and preserving the integrity of my work will always be a top priority.

I’m so excited to welcome you to this stunningly beautiful haven on Virginia Street, right behind the Lowe’s Foods in Chapin.

I’ve missed you and can’t wait to reconnect soon. 🌸
