I was born and raised in beautiful Beaufort, South Carolina, and I love the sunshine and water. I can often be found in my backyard just enjoying nature, maybe with the fire pit ablaze. I love to dance, cook, and travel. About Shamere Young - the brand
My current mission here is to nurture women so they can truly shine and be their best self on the outside, but more importantly on the inside. I help women to create healthier versions of themselves so they can live better and love better. This takes place in a variety of ways as I offer wellness coaching, Reiki energy healing, and beauty advice/classes. No matter how we work together, know that you will always be treated like the unique individual that you are.
Overwhelm is usually a checklist problem, not a you problem.
You didn't fail at getting healthier. You just tried to carry the whole list at once.
Try carrying one thing instead.

Your bodyās a luxury vehicle. Are ya giving it luxury fuel?
Think about it. Them BMWs, Audis, Mercedes, they need that premium gas. Put the cheap stuff in it and itās gon start sputtering on you eventually.
Same with your body. Whole foods keep it running the way itās supposed to. Too much processed food in there, and itās gon start acting up too. Inflammation. Sluggish. Tired for no reason you can point to, when really, itās the fuel.

I get to choose how I show up.
Some days thatās workout clothes and sneakers. Some days thatās fully glammed up just to run to Trader Joeās. No occasion required. No apology needed either.
And I donāt need to look like anybody else. I just need to feel good in what I have on. Confident. Comfortable.
And if you canāt be comfortable in the clothing you wearing, why wear it?
Getting dressed is a choice. How you feel in it is a choice too. Choose you. Always.

Is it still supporting who you are right now?
Not who you used to be. Not who you becoming later. Who you are today.
Thatās the question I want you to sit with before you add one more thing to your wellness journey. Just because it worked for somebody else, or it worked for you two years ago, doesnāt mean itās still what you need now.
Run it through your nutrition. Your movement. Your hydration. Your sleep. Your mental wellness too. If it aināt supporting you where you at right now, girl, itās okay to let it go.
Your past mattered when you were in it. Your future gon matter when you get there. But right now is what you got. Treat it like it matters, because it does.

I sat with something this weekend that I canāt shake.
It was about getting better with what I already haveā£ļø
Itās so easy to want to chase more. More products, more knowledge, more income, more more more everything. But being better with whatās in your hands right now, thatās a different kind of growth.
Thatās the kind that doesnāt get talked about enough.
I see it in the beauty room and I see it in the wellness work I do too. Itās the same lesson wearing two different coats.
Your body isnāt against you, itās for you, you just gotta learn how to work with what you have instead of always reaching past it. Same with the products already sitting in your bag.
Same with the season youāre already in.
Getting better with what you have will outlast chasing more of what you donāt, every time.

Sis, your face changes. Your brows should change too šļø
Not talking about changing your shape. Iām talking about the product you reach for. Hair color changed on you? Face shifted a little over the years? Your brows can shift right along with it, and it starts with knowing which product actually does what. Letās get into it.

Quick tip for ya.
Staying hydrated doesnāt just quench thirst. It helps your cells actually absorb the nutrients from your food and supplements better, and helps your body burn energy more efficiently too.
So all those good nutrients youāre already eating? Water helps your body use them right.

Hereās something I found myself thinking back to on vacation.
A lot of us build our lives off a structure we didnāt even choose. We didnāt ask ourselves how we actually want to live. We just watched other people and adopted what they were doing, thinking that was the blueprint.
Iāve spent time unlearning that. What God has shown me about my purpose is specific to me. Sometimes it looks nothing like whatās considered normal. I had to sit with that and be okay with it.
I think a lot of us need to sit with that too. Not comparing your life to somebody elseās chapter. Not feeling behind because youāre not doing what theyāre doing. Just walking in whatās actually been designed for you.
Thatās when the ease shows up. Thatās when you know how to pivot because your definition of life isnāt coming from anybody elseās book. Itās coming from your own.

Where are YOU on your own list? š
Real talk this mawnin. No fixing it in one convo, but letās start with the tools.

We lost our Ozzie this past week. Sixteen years.
Some years before we brought him home, I was diagnosed with stage four cervical cancer. I donāt mind naming it as it is. God brought me through that season, and Iām grateful for every year after it.
When it was finally safe to try for another baby, it was harder than we expected. I remember asking my husband if we could get a dog. I think part of me was sad and didnāt know how to say it out loud yet.
Ozzie came home and he cracked my light back open. I didnāt know how much healing I still needed until he gave it to me.
Sixteen years of that. He was family. He was my second son in a lot of ways.
Iām heartbroken. Iām also so grateful. Both are true at the same time.
Rest well, Ozzie. š¾š
