I have been waiting to show you my before and afters from my Vivant ProPeel. I really feel you see the truest results of a chemical peel 4 weeks after it has been performed. On the left you will see my before pics, and on the right is my skin 4 weeks later. In both I am only wearing some lip balm, mascara, and eyebrow gel. Nothing on my face so you can see the unfiltered changes. My pigment has lifted, my texture more refined, and I have that new skin glow. I am so pleased with my results. 🥰✨
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I will be posting to stories the day by day, so you can see what the process was like from the day of the peel through day 7. Most of my peeling was done by day 5.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If you are interested in having this peel performed and are local to OC let me know and I can get you on my books. You do need to prep for this peel, so keep that in mind. DM me and I am happy to discuss the process with you. ❤️

I love this infographic by .confessions breaking down retinoids. You may all think all retinoids are the same, but nothing could be further from the truth.

Chemist confessions explains that Retinoids are an umbrella term for this family of ingredients. It doesn't refer to any specific molecule.

Prescription retinoids: compounds like tretinoin (Retin-A), isotretinoin (Accutane), 0.3% adapalene, and tazarotene (Tazorac) must be prescribed by your doctor.

OTC retinoid: there is only one OTC retinoid available right now - 0.1% adapalene. OTC products come with a little drug fact label on the product and a regulated concentration of the active ingredient.

Cosmetic retinoids: retinol, retinal, and retinyl palmitate are all in this bucket. This isn't regulated - and you can find a wild range concentration from a cat's sneeze worth to skin molting levels. Can be a bit wild product hunting, but you can still find some fantastic anti-aging staples here.

My personal fav cosmetic retinoids include:

Derm-A-Renew, Exfol-A, and Exfol-A Forte. All which utilize Retinyl Propionate which is the most effective non-prescription retinoid available.

I am also a big fan of 1% retinol which is an all-trans retinol that is of a specific molecular shape to easily pe*****te the skin.

What are your retinol favs?

I have said it 1000 times. But it is worth repeating. You have the opportunity to treat your skin 365 days a year.

This is where the 80/20 rule comes into play. 80% of your results will be based on the daily care you give your skin. 20% of your results will be based on in office treatments. So don’t skimp when it comes to investing in a customized skincare regimen. If you need help developing a treatment plan and at home regimen to reach your skin goals don’t hesitate to reach out to me. 💖

This goes for pimples and peels my friends. Just don’t do it! If you have a pimple I cannot recommend hydrocolloid patches enough. Some of my favs are the Invisible Mighty Patches by . You can pick them up at Target. As for peels, you do not want to remove any peeling skin sooner than it is ready to flake off itself. If you do you can run the risk of scarring, hyperpigmentation, post inflammatory errhythema, post inflammatory hyperpigmentation … the list goes on and on. So stop touching your face… you will thank me later! 😉⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Can I get an AMEN! 🙏🏻🙌🏻

Just because you may not be spending as much time outdoors doesn’t mean you can skimp on your SPF. Even if you are sitting inside all day you are still absorbing UV rays and blue light. So slather that sunscreen on, and don’t forget to reapply!

My current fav’s include:

✨ UV Clear SPF 46

✨ Extreme Protect SPF 40

✨ Impeccable Skin SPF 30

✨ Slip Tint SPF35

✨ Colorescience]] Sunforgettable Total Protection Face Shield Classic SPF 50

✨ Colorescience]] Sunforgettable Total Protection Face Shield Flex SPF 50

✨ Colorescience]] Sunforgettable Total Protection Brush on Shield SPF 50

This time of year our skin starts to feel those seasonal changes: dryness, tightness, dullness. So what can we do to help? Incorporate a gentle chemical or enzyme exfoliant into your regimen. Remember not to over exfoliate though. A little goes a long way.

Some of my fav’s include:

✨ 8% Mandalic Acid Serum. If you have been on the 8% for awhile consider bumping up to the 15%.

✨ Revitalizing Mask by which has papaya enzymes to digest the dead skin.

✨ Active Serum

✨ Meli Glow Illuminating Nectar Mask

One of my other tips is to end your skincare regimen by using a few drops of a facial oil before your sunscreen in the am, and as your last step in the pm. This will help prevent trans-epidermal water loss. 💦

A few of my holy grails include:

✨ Aromatic Serums #1, #2, and #3

✨ Facial Recovery Oil

✨ Camellia Glow Solid Face Oil

✨ Bless Beauty Balm

✨ Lapis Facial Oil

✨ Serum

✨ Replenishing Facial Oil
