My family’s first annual pumpkin painting contest !!
** SPOILER ALERT!!**
i didn’t win ... I had technical difficulties with my painting skills😂
Since we might not be able to go trick or treating this year, my sisters and .gladys arranged a pumpkin painting contest for the whole family!
It was super fun and can’t wait for next week for the first annual door decorating contest !!
Everybody has to step up their game because my kiddo is a tough judge 😂
Even my dogs had their fun ... we maybe not all of them. The booster machine just lounged around most of the time.
I think I’m going to do this at my house on Halloween with my sister-in-law and my niece and nephew for our mini person Halloween party 🎉
What is everyone else up to for Halloween fun this year?

THROWBACK THURSDAY!!!
Do you ever look at your camera roll and think “2500 pictures 😱”
But are too lazy to actually look at that many pictures and delete all the wonky, random, unwanted images. I’m guilty of it.
Well, I almost did that. Thankfully I started towards the top and was about to work my way down until I found this picture.
It was emailed to me by one of the attendees.. and I saved it ofcourse!
It’s me and Sam Villa at the Redken Symposium 2019 in Las Vegas!! Right before a haircutting class he was teaching. WOW!! What an awesome guy, he was so sweet, humble and he called me his friend. Such a small gesture and yet it was a moment I’ll always cherish and remember!
I met so many of the hairstylist I admire and was amazed how they were all so sweet, humble and willing to take the time to speak with us, and I was fan girling left and right when I met
There’s nothing better than finding out that such prestigious, talented, hair stylist known around the world are awesome people.
My biggest memory for sure what’s when I met .carruthers at the Sam Villa booth. He gave me a hug, and I squeezed him so tight, I didn’t want to let go 😂 He was so nice that he just stood there and waited for me to let go.
I was lucky enough have .hair with me and share this awesome weekend of fun and learning!! She also took a picture of me and Andrew....
Sadly, I lost my phone on check-in day like a noob 😱 so this is the only image I have left to look back on.... but I have the memories of that trip, both the good and the bad.
We’re all super bummed out that there won’t be a Redken Symposium 2021... hopefully 2022 will bring it back...
The Redken Specialist program is a 4 phase all-inclusive program that introduces you to all things Redken.
It’s also the first step in the journey to becoming a Certified Redken Colorist, which is a pretty big deal.
I’ve been waiting for years for the “right” time to start this journey. There was always a reason why I couldn’t do it, but I’m done making excuses and finally put my plans into action.
Not only am I starting this wonderful process at last, I have the privilege to share this experience with my fellow colleague .hair
I’ve been working with this amazing stylist for almost 6 years and it’s exciting to not just do this, but also get out certifications together ❤️ YAAAAAAY !!!
We both already have quite a bit of product knowledge because we worked at a REDKEN salon for 5 years. However, this first class was a great refresher and goes in-depth into the science behind the products and hair.
Which is one of the BEST parts of these classes. Learning the HOW and the WHY behind everything both in styling and color.
I can’t wait for phase 1B !!!
This time I WONT wait til the last minute do the homework and take the quizzes before class day... I kept forgetting and didn’t realize how much material I had to go thru 😂 lesson learned.
October 12, phase 1BI can’t wait !!!

I have been doing my client Judy’s hair for almost 3 years... at least.
I always have so much fun with her when she comes in to see me. She’s so sweet and is always open for new suggestions.
I met her while she was shopping for product, I came up to her, helped her find what she needed and gave her my card.
•
•
One day she called and I’ve been doing her hair since. I still remember that day so well 😄
•
•
For some reason I’m pretty good at remembering the first time I see a new client in my chair. Sometimes even their very first formulas, or haircut style.
•
•
I always think back on all my clients hair history and remembering all the different styles I’ve done and all my client’s transformations!! Although I wish I had been smart enough to take pictures of all of them 😂 but I’m working on it now.
I just had to share this awesome picture because we had been talking about highlighting her hair for ages, but we had to postpone it a few times.
•
•
I totally forgot to take the before picture, but I got a during and an after. We also gave her a fresh, new, and much shorter haircut to give her more volume and manageability.
FORMULAS:
7nw + 7gb + 8gi
Zone 2( between her foils) 7gb + 1/2 6nb
Flash lift bonder inside with 10 vol and Olaplex
Toner 9n + 9g
Mydentity Collagen powder in all formulas
What can be more fun than being blonde??
❤️Being the one that’s doing the Blonding❤️
*** there is a wonky shadow going on from the lighting. The ends and roots looks a little darker, but they are even, you can see it in the video I took, how that shadow changes ***
I’m not a picture/video expert yet 😂 but I tried ***
Everyone knows that blondes are no walk in the park, especially a cool platinum blonde.
If you are asking yourself “Should I go blonde?”
Well...
Platinum blonde, or just ANY blonde is a high maintenance color. You need to commit to every 4-5 weeks for your retouch. Anything over a 1/2-3/4 inch of regrowth will cause banding and it becomes much harder to achieve an even blond. It will also save you from a color correction, and the price that comes with it.
If you can commit to regular maintenance, it’s such a beautiful color when done correctly and just adds a little sass to life 😂
Starting level : 4
Lightener : Big 9 + Magnum 8 hybrid mix with 20 vol
1 full scoop of My Hero collagen powder
Olaplex
I like to mix 1:1/ 1.5 depending on the consistency I’m looking for. I like it to be on the thicker side because control of product is so important in this process.
We all know over overlapping is like the KISS of DEATH for platinum blondes.
Apply to zone 1 only and process to level 9.5/10.
***DO NOT PULL THROUGH THE ENDS***
Even a “bleach bath” while rinsing can compromise the integrity on already fragile hair.
The alternative:
Doing a pre art treatment will help even out the porosity, clarify the hair and prepare a clean canvas for toning.
To tone I used 10VV,10P, and a tad 10T at maximum dilution with clear and olaplex Process for 15-20 min.
Rinse, apply Olaplex No.2 for 10 min, Pureology strength cure shampoo and conditioner.
Styling Products:
Pureology colour fanatic leave-in
treatment
Pureology Strength cure miracle filler
Olaplex No.7 Bonding oil (3 drops)
Blow dry and you’re done !!
This process is truly one I love to do, and brings me so much happiness. Stay beautiful everyone 😄
Hey hey hey everyone !!
I know that video came off as pretty depressing, but I promise I’m NOT dying or anything serious like that.
I have a medical condition that I have to deal with every few years.
However it’s hard for me to talk about... but when has it ever been easy to share your weaknesses, and become vulnerable to the undesirable judgement of the internet trolls??
Many of you know what sickness has plagued me so much over the years, and all the people I’ve surely traumatized.
I’m sure many if you can figure it out pretty easily, it’s not hard. Still, I’m touchy about that undesirable subject.
Anyways enough said about that depressing nonsense.
The point of this video was to announce that for everyone’s safety I can no longer offer ANY hair cutting and hot iron services. I’m not sure for how long, it could be at least 3 months.
It’s definitely not a good feeling having to take off so much time right after this quarantine, and stay at home order is slowly coming to and end. I was stressing so much about NOT getting sick and having to take time off right after we reopened, that the universe was like “here let me sprinkle some of that 2020 luck on you” 😂
For now I can only be behind the chair 3 days a week, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
If you are a client of mine, and need a haircut I’m sure this is not the best news. However I can most definitely give you an alternate option.
My own hairstylist 😂 yes, MY own hairstylist because we all this gurl can’t highlight and cut her own hair, there’s too much of it.
I promise that I will NOT be hurt or jealous or salty in any way. I trust .hair with ANYTHING !!
She is such an amazing stylist and many of you know her already, and trust her too.
I am still perfectly fine to do ALL hair color services, so don’t let those roots grow out too much and come get your color done !!
Finally.. Thank you, and I’m so grateful for everyone that has been so supportive. My family has been super cool, and my clients have been understanding about all this. It’s almost unreal how much people care, and I finally see that. Hope to see you all soon.

I have been doing Melissa’s hair about 3 years, and I always have so much fun giving her the look she wants. I love that we make subtle changes to give her alternate look. Something as small as changing her part line can make your look feel different.
This is great for clients that want a change, but aren’t ready for a full on transformation. I remember about a year ago we went from straightening her hair every week, to giving her fun curls every other appointment.
Here we have a combination of Keratin Complex Smoothing Treatment to control frizziness and fly aways. Which turned her hair from a level 3 to about a 4 - 4 1/2. This made it so much easier to change her base, add 4abn and 5na shades eq gloss on her length and give her a slightly lighter look than she was used to.
Also, the ends do look a tad bit darker, but that’s the lighting. Her hair is so long it cast a darker shadow towards the bottom. If you’ve had this problem taking your pictures, you know the struggle is real.
We wanted to give her longer hair with a more natural look, but not super full and heavy. To achieve this we used about 10-12 tape in extensions. They fill just enough to give her length without being heavy and causer her headaches.
What’s fun is that this type of subtle transformations can happen over a long period of time. Sometimes the journey is so much more fun than arriving to your destination.
To my client Melissa, if you are reading this:
Thank you so much for being such an beautiful, amazing soul!! I thank you for being such a loyal client to me, because the truth is you could have chosen so many other stylist out there.. and yet you chose me. I’m so grateful to have you in my life because you are more than just a client, you’re one of my best friends... And auntie?? to my little Forest. ❤️
