Kristy, came across Anya Owensbrown sharing the mission of OUR KINGS, a nonprofit pouring into young Black boys and giving them experiences that build confidence, character, and pride. Kristy reached out that same day, and She’s In Minks officially became a proud sponsor of their Hats & Bow Tie Brunch, providing outfits so these young Kings could show up looking and feeling like the royalty they are. 👑

What started as a small idea grew into something far bigger than I ever imagined.

This year one of our signup lists jumped from 8 students to 84 overnight, this isn’t just a program, this was a movement.

Over the past several weeks, our all volunteer, donation powered team has shown up for students across Southern AND Northern California; young people who deserved to feel seen, celebrated, and beautiful on one of the most memorable nights of their lives. Including foster youth who needed this most.

We visited 5 schools. We hosted a fancy private pop-up. We collected dresses from donors, stocked drop off boxes at the Jackie Robinson YMCA, the FANCY Teen Girl Expo, and Just In Time for Youth Foster Care Services. We loaded up cars, sorted donations, and showed up every single time.

And we are not done.

🗓️ May 1st & 2nd - we are wrapping up the 2026 Prom Makeover with FREE Beauty & Barber Services for every participating student, just in time for Prom on May 2, 2026 provided exclusively by Thrive and Shine Academy!
