UCI Staff Assembly

Please mark your calendars for this year’s Staff Appreciation Picnic, hosted by Staff Assembly, UCI’s volunteer staff organization. This annual event is scheduled for Thursday, August 31, 2023. The picnic will be in Section 12 of Aldrich Park where graduation ceremonies used to take place. Campus, UCIMC, and UCI Health staff are welcome.

This year’s picnic is all about being together, recognizing and appreciating staff while sharing a meal. Let the festivities commence!

WHAT TO EXPECT THIS YEAR AT THE PICNIC
• Tables, chairs, and umbrellas will be provided and set up by Signature Rental before staff arrive at the picnic.
• Please refrain from bringing pop-up canopies, generators or BBQ grills.
• Shuttle service from UCIMC and UCI Research Park.
• No vendor/informational booths.
• The return of some our traditional picnic games.
• Extended food service time from 11am to 2pm to allow for more flexibility of our 2-hour lunch break.

PARKING
• Parking in the Anteater Parking Structure will be available for staff picnic attendees. If possible, please coordinate with other staff attendees to carpool to the picnic. Below is pertinent information for the Park By Plate code to register your vehicle in case you do not already have a valid UCI parking permit:

What could be better than a sunset in a kayak? Join us on the relaxing Newport back bay for an afternoon kayak. The UCI Campus Recreation helpful staff with guide you through each step along the way. The 2023 Staff Service Awards will take place on Wednesday, June 21, 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the Bren Events Center on the UCI campus. This live event will honor hundreds of milestone service honorees celebrating 50, 45, 40, 35, 30, 25, 20, 15, 10, 5 and 3 years of service. In addition, we are hosting a One Year Anniversary celebration and providing an opportunity for staff who are also alumni to self-identify and receive a special lapel pin.

Just a reminder that the Mike Puritz Career Enhancement Scholarship Program deadline is coming up on April 15th! UCI staff can earn up to $500 Scholarships.
