Dark lip blushing doesn’t always require multiple sessions.
This case study features a client with natural hyperpigmentation concentrated on the upper lip and along the lower waterline. Her goal was clear from the start: balanced tone and a softly saturated rosy pink, without committing to months of visible healing.
In one visit, we were able to neutralize darker tones and thoughtfully layer her target color in the same session. Healing and color evolution are still part of the process, especially for deeper skin tones, but the approach was intentional and measured to avoid unnecessary downtime or overcorrection.
Technique matters.
Judgment matters more.
Knowing when neutralization is needed.

Soooo, Lip Blushing is all all the rage, but let’s clear up some misconceptions:
1️⃣Pain? No need to worry, most of my clients say it’s more comfortable than they expected. Plus, I use numbing cream to make it even more comfortable.
2️⃣ Don’t expect it to look like lipstick though, it’ll have a matte stain effect instead. (Cue the lipgloss!!)
3️⃣The color will look vibrant at first, but will fade to a more natural shade as it heals. Healing is quick, usually by day 1 puffiness is gone and by day 3-5 it peels.
4️⃣ Results can vary depending on your natural lip color, that’s why touch-ups are so important. And no, we won’t make your lips bigger, for that you should see
