Newark loving his shoulders being worked on!! Out of all the muscles I work on, I have to say an overwhelmingly popular favorite is the shoulders! The shoulder is made up of several important muscles, including the trapezius, brachiocephalicus, omotransversarius, supraspinatus, infraspinatus, and deltoid, that work together to move the front limb and support efficient movement. When these muscles become tight or overworked, horses may show shortened strides, stiffness, resistance to bending, difficulty reaching forward, or changes in performance. Regular equine massage can help reduce muscle tension, improve range of motion, and keep your horse feeling and performing at its best!
