Henkel, a German-based company that makes chemicals for industrial and commercial goods, also owns Schwarzkopf, Got2B, and Not Your Mother’s, which it acquired earlier this month. The company will pay $2.06 a share for the premium hair-care brand, which revolutionized the industry when it launched at-home products in 2014 (and won an Allure Best of Beauty Breakthrough Award).

An acquisition like this always warrants questions, but for now, we’ll have to wait and see what this means for the brand and its beloved formulas. “Today marks an exciting next chapter for Olapex,” said the brand’s chief executive officer, Amanda Baldwin. “I’m incredibly proud of what our team has accomplished and look forward to accelerating our product innovation, expanding our reach, and continuing to deliver results for our pro partners and customers around the world as part of the Henkel platform.”
