When receiving an injectable, such as filler, botox, etc., there is always a risk of bruising as of the pe*******on of the needle into the skin. Every body is also different, with some that bruise easily and others that find themselves with no noticeable markings at all! With this in mind, however, there are ways to help avoid bruising after receiving a service!

1. Before your treatment, avoid medications or supplements with blood-thinning effects. This includes Advil, Motrin, Naproxen, Ibuprofen, etc.

2. Do not drink alcohol before and after your treatment. Alcohol causes blood vessels to relax and open, which increases the risk of bruising.

3. Avoid rigorous exercise at least 24 hours after your treatment. Increased heart rate and blood flow aren’t great when trying to avoid bruising.

4. Don’t touch the injection site for at least 24 hours after your treatment. Not only does this increase the risk of bruising, but of the solution to travel to unwanted areas of the face.

5. For added security, you can put an ice pack on the injection site. Ice constricts blood vessels and will slow the flow of blood to the injection site.
