I specifically love Mermaid Wax because it gives me great hair pickup while still being gentle on my clients’ skin.

🤍 Hard wax: My go-to for first-time waxing and coarser/stubborn hair. I find it grips those hairs really well and helps me get a clean removal.

🤍 Soft wax: Perfect for those fine, thin hairs that need a little extra grab.

And for my sensitive-skin girls? 👀
Mermaid Wax is beeswax-free + rosin-free, which is one of the reasons I love having it in my professional waxing setup. Many of my clients experience less redness—or redness that settles much faster after their service.

Why does your first wax—or your first wax after waiting WAY too long—hurt more? 👀

There’s actually a reason!

✨ 1. That hair is holding on for dear life.
When hair has been growing for a long time, it’s more firmly established in the follicle. Dead skin can also build up around the follicle, making removal feel like more of a tug-of-war. Regular waxing + exfoliating between appointments can make a BIG difference.

🫶 2. You don’t know or trust your waxer yet.
First appointment nerves are REAL. You’re more likely to tense up because you don’t know what to expect. Once we learn each other’s rhythm—and you learn when to breathe, relax, and let me do the work—it gets SO much easier.

🍯 3. Your waxer and technique matter.
Different hair types, growth patterns, skin types, and areas may need different waxes and techniques. The right waxer knows how to adjust instead of treating every client exactly the same.

💧 4. How you prep matters!
Come hydrated, skip the caffeine beforehand, and gently exfoliate 24–72 hours before your appointment. Proper prep helps set you—and your skin—up for a much smoother waxing experience.

And the biggest secret? STAY. ON. SCHEDULE. 👏

Consistent waxing means we’re catching hairs through different growth cycles instead of starting from scratch every time. Most clients find their appointments become MUCH more manageable with consistency.

Today isn’t about Bliss or bookings. It’s about remembering the lives lost, the families whose lives changed forever, the survivors, and the first responders who ran toward danger when everyone else was trying to escape.

As an Army veteran and someone now training my own dog, Koda, toward Search & Rescue work, I’ve found myself thinking especially about the incredible K9 teams and their handlers who searched Ground Zero tirelessly in the days following 9/11.

So today, I wanted to introduce you to a little more of the person behind Bliss — and to Koda, who you’ll probably see around here from time to time as he learns to use that nose for something much bigger than himself. ❤️

To those we lost, those who served, those who searched, and those who survived:
