I have come to realize many things in this journey called life.
Most of all, that it’s up to me to look after myself and my happiness.
If I can’t do that, I can’t expect anyone else to do that, either.
I have to go where I’m wanted and stay where I want to be..
Not try to make people like me or force myself upon anyone else.
That never turns out well.
No, I have to turn and walk away from the people, places and things that tear me down, disrespect me and make me feel badly.
If someone doesn’t know my worth, it’s not up to me to prove it to them.
The right people will always get me…no proving anything necessary.
They will be the ones that love me unconditionally and support me all the time, regardless of rain or shine.
I’m walking away from the rest- the toxic people, the selfish ones and the ones with agendas.
I have to do what’s best for me if I’m going to be truly happy.
No more game players, users and abusers.
I’m filing my life with the unique, genuine and beautifully brave souls that enrich my life and make my heart happy.
The rest of them?
Well, they can keep doing whatever they want to do..
So long as they do it away from me.
I’ve got a train to happiness to catch.
Next stop: adventure.

Looking back, I should have known you were wrong for me in so many ways, but my heart wouldn’t listen.
While my intuition was screaming silently, I fell head over heels for you..
But now, I wonder if that was really even you at all.
Maybe you showed me what I wanted to see, showered me with love I wanted to feel and showed me a future that I wanted to believe in.
It’s hard to turn off your feelings when everything seems to be clicking...
Until it doesn’t any more.
I wonder now if it was just a game to you or you simply pursued me to feed your ego- I’ll never really know for sure.
What I do know is that when you left, you shattered my heart into a million pieces.
Truthfully, I should have seen the red flags and warning signs, but we often close our eyes to the truth when feelings are involved.
I’ll never say I regret our time together or what happened, because it taught me a lot about myself, love and what I’ll never allow again.
The bad taste in my mouth still lingers, but with each passing day, it lessens just a little more.
Soon, you’ll just be a faded memory and a lesson I had to learn.
I wish it didn’t have to be this way, but deep down, I know this is exactly what we need to break our cycle of toxicity..and I’m torn between sadness and relief.
The pain I felt with you has made me stronger, wiser and deeper, and the next time around, I’m not going to be blind.
I’ll embrace the opportunity to find love if it comes calling, but I’m not knocking on that door any time soon.
I’m too busy making myself and my life better, not bitter.
I don’t need to be fixed, saved or completed..
I just want to be appreciated, respected and loved for who I am.
The right person will get that and I’ll never have to ask for the things I expect and deserve.
This time, I’m finding my love within, not with men.
And that,darling, will make all the difference.
I’m worth that and much, much more.

We’re all just trying to find our way in this life.
I’ll stumble and fall, so will you.
Sometimes, I’ll land flat on my face..you will, too.
It's those moments, when we are at our lowest, that we can lift each other up, not put others down.
What sets us apart, what makes us better...
Is our kindness, our humanity.
We all need a helping hand.
We all need compassion and love.
It takes so little to pay it forward, to help another up, to give someone hope.
You don’t have to make light of another’s shortcomings to make your light shine brighter.
Don't put out another's light to make yours shine brighter.
Character is doing the right thing when no one else is looking.
Help touch up her makeup.
Straighten his suit.
Pay for a stranger's meal.
Volunteer at a shelter.
You never know when someone might desperately need your help.
A kind word may be all it takes to save a life.
I’m not always great and there are days that get the best of me..
But together, you and I, we can make a difference,
One small light and then another..
Until we, together, form a chain of impenetrable light, hope and love.
One fire may not light the darkness, but a multitude of fires can create a giant blaze..
So, let's do that.
Let's worry less about what we have and don’t have and more about what we can do.
If you're feeling down, hopeless or just can't find the reason to be happy, help someone else..
Take it from me, you'll be amazed how good selfless kindness feels.
Don’t let an opportunity pass you by to lend a hand, pay a compliment or help someone struggling.
Radiate like a diamond,
Be a light wherever you go.
You’ll never need a spotlight -
You’ll shine from within.
That’s the most beautiful thing of all:
Kindness, love and hope with a smile.
Make that smile yours.
That’s what the world needs more of-
From me, from you..from all of us.
Let’s set it all on fire, starting with our hearts.
You’d be amazed what you can do with a little passion, love and magic.

You opened your eyes this morning and stayed in bed for a while, just wondering how you’d manage to find a way to do everything.

How, you wonder..
How can you do everything for everyone?
How can you get it all done?
How can you find hope again?
Truth is, the joy and happiness haven’t gone anywhere, you’ve just gotten bogged down in life’s battles and forgotten how to rise above the storms.
You’ve lost sight of your hope, cast aside your dreams and taken steps off the path meant for you.
Stop.
Breathe in and let it all go, if only for a moment.
You’re meant for more than just going through the motions..
You’ve just forgotten the way.
Whatever has happened before- the mistakes you made and the things that happened ..
That’s over now.
I know changing your direction isn’t easy..everyone would if it were.
But you can.
You will.
Stop focusing on what’s wrong with your life and start finding a way to believe in what could go right.
A journey doesn’t happen in a single step or a day, but a continual move towards something you choose.
Choose to let go of everything that is weighing you down and start embracing the possibilities.
You can’t hold the promises of tomorrow if you’re still holding onto yesterday’s burdens.
This is your chance and you’re capable of so much more than you have chosen to accept.
Stop believing the worst and start believing you can.
Open your mind, free your heart and lift your head.
All the love, hope and happiness has been waiting for you all along.
Close the chapter of times past and start writing a new chapter..
One of triumph, of growth..of becoming the person you once believed you could be.
I can’t go there for you, but I can walk beside you.

If you ever asked her how she made it and what she did to become as strong as she is..

She was never blessed with a privileged life and an easy path, but she was blessed with the journey that she had to fight and battle through just to survive…

When everyone would praise her strength and resiliency, she understood her blessings more clearly than ever.
She stopped wishing for an easier life and began to build a stronger back.

And one day, she woke up and realized who and what she had become:

She would do anything for those she loved and she would never give up on her dreams.

With a heart full of passion, a spirit borne of struggle and an undying strength,
She rose from the ashes of an ordinary life and evolved into something extraordinary.
She still may not have all the answers and there are still plenty of bad days, but they don’t ruin her anymore.
Now, she just puts her head down and keeps going.
She’s more than broken, a survivor or a warrior.
She’s a beautiful soul with a heart of gold..
One who has finally found her place in this world.
Oh, and one more thing about that woman…
