Don’t forget-today, Saturday July 25 is the last day to ORDER AND PAY FOR feed orders for the next two weeks. Because we have switched to delivery, I have to have the orders together and submitted on time. We will not be making a feed run between deliveries. If you have questions, let me know asap. Thanks in advance!

HAVE YOU SEEN GISLA????

Still missing as of July 24 😔

She was here last night. She did not come back today. She’s ALWAYS ready to come in and eat “her” food if she stays out overnight.

Please, if anyone knows something let us know! She is microchipped.

Feed order reminder! This is the last week (for a while) we will be picking up feed weekly. Orders are due (placed and paid for) by midnight Tuesday.

Beginning this weekend, orders due by midnight Saturdays, and be sure to cover two weeks as the truck comes biweekly.

No change to the milk schedule 😊

A couple changes…

As you are aware, we cut our days open to Friday through Sunday. This wasn’t an easy decision, and some people aren’t happy about it. I’m going to explain the situation, and ask for some grace.

It’s not a secret that we’ve been slow, so it makes sense to cut overhead by not being open as often. That was only part of the reason. The deciding factor to the hours change as well as some changes I’ll talk about momentarily, is that a very close family member is terribly sick. We hoped and prayed since last fall (at diagnosis) for positive outcome. The doctors even seemed to have a fairly positive prognosis in the beginning. Ten months later, we are navigating an end of life scenario as a family. We are a very small family business and a very small family, which means we are all affected by this tragedy. I will be honest, I’m doing everything I can to keep things in the business moving smoothly, fulfilling orders and being available to meet outside of our limited hours as needed. I do try to be very prompt in responding to texts and messages. I will continue to do my best but please be patient as we may be unavailable to immediately answer. Things are moving very quickly. We wish we had more time with our family member. Quality of life is a huge focus. This isn’t always an easy thing when the person who is sick was fiercely independent less than a year ago.

As far as our hours, we are trying to stand firm with the Friday through Sunday hours.

One major change will be for feed orders. Next week will be our last weekly run to Goldsboro for the foreseeable future. Coker Feed Mill has graciously worked us back into their delivery schedule. Truck delivery will begin July 29. They will come every two weeks on Wednesday mornings (before we open). My orders are due to the mill by noon Mondays to allow them enough time to prepare the deliveries. This means I will need your orders submitted by Midnight Saturday. Home deliveries will not change. We will still deliver (I’m fortunate to have friends willing to step in and assist if necessary). Milk will still be weekly. Nothing is changing with it.

I understand the inconvenience of ordering two weeks at a time, and shorter business hours, but please understand this is temporary. One of the big issues we are facing is being available if we need to go to the hospital in an emergency. Our local hospital is not equipped to handle this and we are told we have to go to Wilmington. I just can’t be an hour and a half away if I get the call.

I’m sorry for any inconvenience and I’m sorry for rambling. I’m a little emotional and my brain is foggy. Thank you all for your support. For those of you who have been in the loop and have been praying for our family, know that we are so grateful. We appreciate you!

Arriving tomorrow from Manley Farm, along with Red plum jelly and zucchini bread!

Farmers, cottage industry people, handmade craft people, is there are interest in participating in a regular market night? This would require consistency and the understanding that these things sometimes start off slow before catching on.

I will pose the same question to our customer base-would you appreciate this sort of standing event?
