Same treatment. Two very different tissue responses.
He came in with pain between his right shoulder blade and spine. When I worked both sides, the right side reacted much more strongly—and the tissues there had noticeably less glide.
After releasing the restricted area, we tested the movement again.
“More freedom?”
“Feels lighter?”
His reaction says the rest.
Does one side of your upper back always feel tighter?

Does your baby always turn their head to the same side?
This preference may be connected with tension through the neck and upper chest—and over time, you may also notice changes in head shape.
In this session, I’m using very gentle bodywork to help release tension and support more comfortable movement.

Shoulder pain when lifting your arm?
The shoulder doesn’t move alone. The shoulder blade, upper back, rib cage, and neck all contribute to how freely your arm moves.
That’s why I don’t focus only on the spot where the pain is felt. I look at the movement as a whole and work with the restrictions I find.

Limited shoulder movement doesn’t always mean you should only focus on the shoulder.
I look at how the whole area moves, work with what feels restricted, and then retest.
Sometimes the change speaks for itself.

Shoulder pain doesn’t always start in the shoulder.
Sometimes the key is looking at how the shoulder blade, upper back, and surrounding tissues are moving together.
That’s why I always test, work, and retest — and let the movement tell us what changed.

Shoulder pain can make even a simple movement feel impossible.
After one session, she had less pain and noticeably more freedom of movement.
Every body is different — the first step is finding where movement is restricted and helping the body move better.

Back pain doesn't always start in your back.
One patient came in with lower back pain.
Instead of focusing only on the painful area, I checked how his hip was moving. It wasn't moving as well as it should.
When one joint loses mobility, another often has to work harder to compensate. Over time, that extra load can contribute to discomfort in a different area.
Every person is different, which is why I always assess how the whole body moves instead of looking only at where it hurts.

Have you ever been told that everything looks normal… but your stomach still feels tight?
Many moms live with abdominal tension long after pregnancy, childbirth, prolonged stress, or years of constantly bracing the body.
Sometimes it is not about “weak abs” or simply needing to relax. The tissues themselves may have lost some of their natural mobility.
During this session, I worked gently with the areas of restriction in her abdomen. Afterward, she said she felt lighter and finally more relaxed.
Your body may need more than another test. Sometimes it needs the right kind of attention.

"Does it still hurt?"
"No."
Her shoulder was painful.
But I didn't start by treating the shoulder.
Instead, I assessed how her neck, upper back, rib cage, and shoulder blade were moving together.
When one part of that system isn't moving well, the shoulder often has to compensate—and that can contribute to pain.
That's why I don't focus only on where it hurts. I look for what's driving the problem.
Every person is different, but improving movement is often an important step toward reducing pain.

Years after a car accident, his low back pain never really went away.
Pain medication and injections helped temporarily, but every time he became more active, the pain came back.
This time it got bad enough that he decided to try something different.
At his first visit, even bending forward was painful and very limited.
The second clip shows his movement after treatment.
Every person responds differently, and this is only one patient's experience, but restoring normal movement is often the first step toward lasting improvement.
If back pain keeps coming back no matter what you try, your body may be telling a different story.
