Band Parent Starter Pack: When to Bring It In---Now.

You don’t have to wait until it completely stops working.

A few signs it’s time:
– Something feels “off” when they play
– Keys or valves aren’t moving smoothly
– Sound isn’t coming out like it used to

If you’re wondering… it’s usually worth getting it checked.

For our more experienced band parents, have you ever waited too long? What advice do you have for beginner band parents?

Customer: “Something’s wrong with my instrument…”
Us: Gives it a good once over.

Also us: “When’s the last time it was cleaned?” 😄

Expectation: “It’s probably a quick fix.”

Reality: opens case 😐

Sometimes it’s quick… sometimes it’s a project.

Before putting the instrument away for summer:

✔️clean it
✔️swab it
✔️check for sticky keys
✔️make sure nothing smells strange

Then store it somewhere cool and dry.

🚫Not the garage.
🚫Not the attic.
🚫Definitely not the trunk of the car.

Future repairs start in bad storage spaces.
