I just got back from Emma and I need to talk about it.
It is not for the faint of heart. It’s direct. There’s swearing. It cracks you open in the best way. If you can’t be self aware do not go. You will not survive it 😂

But if you can? Baby it will rearrange something in you.

Here’s what landed for me. Stop organizing your life around someone else’s potential growth. Stop putting your healing on layaway waiting for a payment that may never come. Move on without the closure ceremony. I sat with that.

Then I looked at how small I had made myself. For people. For rooms. For relationships. For opportunities I talked myself out of before anyone else got the chance to say no.

I lowered my voice. I bowed my head. I shrunk.

As a little girl I was called bossy. Later I was called brash by some overweight man named Boyd who couldn’t handle me. Then there was a Katie who thought disrespect was a personality until she got fired and I didn’t even have to call the monkeys. The universe handled it.

Here’s what I know now. Financial literacy is a superpower. My voice is not a problem. My boldness is not a flaw.

I will not lower my voice or bow my head to any challenge, person, boss, fear, or bad self talk. Not anymore.

That little girl they called bossy? She was just early. 👑
