Life update! From the studio, precision cutting journey and more! I feel like I’m just getting stsrted and so excited for what is ahead!

Hot take: Not every barber should stay in a barbershop forever.

Before anybody gets offended, hear me out… I spent years in barbershops and I’m grateful for every lesson, relationship, and opportunity they gave me. Shops are where many of us learn the craft, build confidence, and develop our clientele.

But there comes a point where a suite may make more sense.

For me, it came down to three things:

1. I had built a loyal clientele that was willing to follow me.
2. I wanted my clients’ experience to reflect my standards and personal brand every single day.
3. I wanted complete control over the environment, service, schedule, and brand.

This isn’t a knock on barbershops or the barbers who work in them. There are incredible shops run by incredible people. If it’s working let it work.

Im just saying it’s not unreasonable to believe that what helped you grow may not be the place you’re meant to stay forever.

A shop helped build me.

A suite helped me build my vision.

It’s the best move I could have made in this season. And we haven’t even talked about the money…

Ive never looked at it like I was editing and sharing content. Its more. It’s a journey that I share with my friends. I share the wins and the losses, the sexy and the not, and somehow it still carries enough value to help others. That’s all I want to do. Teach what I learn and help someone go further and do better faster.

He just couldn’t hear me when I explained that I am a father of 3 supporting my family. He pushed way past uncomfortable energy and asked me to match the price of the barber that ruined his look. It was one of the most awkward conversations I ever had as he told me I was one of the best barber’s he ever had, but wasn’t looking to pay what I charge. I can’t be the only one. Tell me your weird story…

They might call me a lot of things but one thing they’re never going to call me is “Late”. It’s not that hard to plan ahead and it pays well.
