✨ A little memory from my first salon suite as a new business owner. 🥹🤍

I remember being in this space, stepping into a whole new chapter of my life, and being absolutely TERRIFIED.

After working as a commission stylist while juggling TWO jobs for over 6 years, I was taking the biggest leap of faith in myself and going FULL-TIME as an independent stylist. I was excited, but I was scared out of my mind. 😅

Little did I know just how much this journey would challenge me, change me, and shape me into the woman and business owner I am today.

There have been SO many ups and downs, gains and losses, lessons learned the hard way, and moments that have pushed me to my absolute limits. But the growth that happens when you refuse to give up on yourself is INSANE.

There is no guidebook for running a business or navigating this career. Every stylist has their own path, their own struggles, and their own way of creating something meaningful. You learn as you go, adapt as you grow, and figure things out one day at a time.

And behind the chair? There is SO much more to this career than hair.

I’ve had the privilege of being a safe space for my clients through some of their hardest seasons and celebrating some of their happiest moments. I’ve shared laughs, tears, life updates, milestones, and even had to navigate the heartbreak of losing clients along the way. Those experiences remind you just how much these relationships mean. There are so many silent wins and rewards in this career that people will never see from the outside. 🤍

Fast-forward 5.5 years, and January 2027 marks SIX YEARS in business! 🥹✨ And in 2027, I’ll also be celebrating 12 YEARS as a hairstylist! 🤍

Twelve years of learning, growing, creating, connecting with people, and finding my place in an industry that I genuinely love. Six of those years have been spent building something of my own, taking risks, and learning what it truly means to be a small business owner.

They say many small businesses don’t make it past the five-year mark, and while I know the journey is far from over, I can’t help but feel proud of how far I’ve come. Not just as a business owner, but as a person.

I’ve worked behind the chair 5–6 days a week, navigated challenges I never expected, and had plenty of moments when walking away would have been the easier option. I’ve had every reason to quit at different points along the way, but I DIDN’T. And that says a lot about perseverance, determination, and believing in something even when it’s hard.

I genuinely cannot imagine doing anything else. As exhausting and challenging as this career can be, I found my purpose. And I’m so grateful I had the courage to take that first scary step.

I still have SO much room to grow, so many dreams to chase, and so much more I want to accomplish. I cannot wait to look back five years from now and see what this next chapter holds. 🥹

I love when these memories pop up because they humble me. They remind me of the girl who was scared to take a chance on herself and how far she’s come since then.

Sometimes you have to look back to appreciate how far you’ve made it forward. ✨

To every single client who has supported me, trusted me, sat in my chair, referred a friend, shared my work, or simply continued to show up for me: THANK YOU. You make this journey worth it more than you know. I wouldn’t be here without you, and I will never take that for granted. 🫶🏼🤍

🍷 A shadow root to blend and cover her grays.
✨ A partial highlight to create dimension and give the color beautiful variation.
❤️ One of my favorite Joico color combinations to create that rich, deep wine-red tone!

The magic is in the dimension! By incorporating highlights, we created different levels of depth and reflectivity throughout the hair instead of a flat, one-dimensional red. The result? A luxurious wine-inspired color that shifts beautifully in different lighting. 😍

My client wanted a rich maroon burgundy, and we brought that vision to life using Redken Color Fusion 5RV for that gorgeous red-violet tone! ❤️

But we didn’t stop at color! 🫶🏼 She also received a custom backbar treatment to infuse her hair with moisture and give both her hair and scalp some much-needed love, followed by a much-needed haircut to clean up those ends. ✂️✨

The result?! Rich, dimensional, glossy burgundy perfection! 😍🍷
