Senior Spotlight: Abby Cottingham – Cosmetology Student

What is your favorite service(s)? Vivids, haircuts, perms, and all over colors!

Where do you plan on working when you graduate? I am continuing my education at Merrell University’s esthetics program, but plan to work in the Jefferson City or Eldon area after graduation!

What made you choose a career in Cosmetology? I’ve known since I was a little girl that this is the career of my dreams. I love making others feel beautiful and enhancing their natural beauty.

What is one way Merrell University has prepared you for the beauty industry? Merrell University has given me confidence, skills, knowledge, and experience that will help me be successful wherever I may go.

What are some of your passions/ hobbies outside of Cosmetology? When I’m not at school, you will find me somewhere outside, coloring, binge watching my favorite 2000’s TV shows/movies, or with my family and fur babies.

What are a few characteristics about yourself that will make you successful in the beauty industry? I am quick on my feet, organized, and open-minded to possibilities.

What is your favorite retail product? The Wizard Detangling Primer by AMIKA
