Did you know that I offer prenatal appointments? In fact, prenatal massage is one of my favorite services to provide! (They also make a great gift!)🤰

Research indicates that prenatal massage can provide the following therapeutic effects in healthy pregnancies:

-Reduced pain and muscle tension — particularly in the lower back, hips, and legs. 
-Decreased stress (lower cortisol), anxiety, and depressive symptoms, with measurable improvements in mood regulators such as serotonin and dopamine. 
-Improved circulation and immune response, aiding overall maternal well-being. 
-Potential positive perinatal outcomes, including lower risk of preterm delivery and higher birth weight in some studies. 
-Some studies even suggest that expecting mothers who received regular massage therapy throughout their pregnancy had shorter labor times! 🤯

When performed by a licensed massage therapist using appropriate positioning and pressure modifications, prenatal massage is considered safe for uncomplicated pregnancies and can be an effective complementary therapy throughout all trimesters. If you are experiencing complications (such as preeclampsia) please contact your physician prior to scheduling.
