Here’s an unpopular opinion between stylists:

I don’t think you should have to replace your hair until you absolutely need to.

Why?

Because if your hair is still in good shape who cares if you haven’t replaced it in 8 months??

No one will know unless you say something.

I love the idea of saving new hair purchases for upcoming events.

Think holidays.
Reunions.
Weddings.
Vacations.

Events where you’ll want to feel the freshest.

If that’s every 6 months I’m here for it.

But just to replace it because it’s been X amount of time?? Nah, girl. Save your money.
Let’s plan for later. ♥️

Dear Melissa,

My favorite bookworm that has grown with me for 5 years..
You’ve known me from when I didn’t know what I was good at and when I was at my lowest to now where were able to go months without full blown color and knowing what I want. (Can you believe we haven’t done a full color in months? It just grows out like this 🤯)
You have never failed to be flexible with me.
You have never doubted me.
You challenge me - in all the good ways!
You have been there for me in ways I could never put into words.
You got my baby one of his FIRST and favorite books.
When I see your name I truly light up because I can’t wait to see you.
You are the most calm and genuine soul and it’s almost laughable now that I was so scared to do your hair for the first time. 🤣
What I love the most about you is that you live your life the absolute fullest. You are game for new things. You are so comfortable with yourself that opinions from outsiders don’t make noise to you.
You’re one of my biggest cheerleaders and I can’t imagine not having you, because I’m not even sure how I lasted before I knew you.
If I need an organizing hack, deets on the most interesting books, the best restaurants, or trash tv (sometimes too much reality 😅) you’re my go to.
I love you all the way to the shampoo bowl and back. Thank you for always trusting me and letting me try new things with your hair. ♥️

JUNE OBSESSIONS REVIEWS:

pH color changing lip gloss:
I got influenced on this one.
Sometimes it be like that.
Moisturizer, SPF, lip gloss, and a little bit of Mood Rings by Relient K in the background..
Good to go. 🫰🏻

SALT diffuser by Hearth & Hand:
Am I the only one that didn’t know salt had a smell?
My aunt gave me this one and I swear I want it as a signature scent now.
Currently on sale so go snag it from your nearest before I do.

TV in the bedroom:
I’ve never been a fan. HOWEVER. having a TV while you’re sick is a game changer. Mad we didn’t do this sooner.

Full length mirror:
This has been a need, but finally got one and wow. With Amazon’s prime days coming soon you need to snag one if you haven’t already.

Olaplex no. 3:
I swear if I don’t get attacked.. 🤣
Olaplex isn’t protein. It’s safe. I promise.
I can’t take credit for this brilliant hack since I saw another stylist (@) do it first.
Haven’t stopped since and haven’t fell out of love with her.

Tangle Teezer Brush:
Dare I say I like it more than the wet brush?
I said what I said. 🤷🏼‍♀️
The bristles are shorter and for some reason detangle hair a little easier.
Tender headed kids? Try that one instead.

HOC True Terracotta Lipstick:
Would it be an obsession post if I didn’t throw in a little color love? Absolutely not.
If you’re like me (warm season) and want something semi neutral.. try this one. It’s punchy and STUNNING.
Can’t explain it. But it’s science. Literally.

Active dresses:
Might just be part of my CP, but I’m LOVING all the athletic dresses.
1. they’re COMFY.
2. You actually look like you tried.
I just love a good dress.

Amanda, clients like you are why I love my job. ♥️

I wanted to do hair because I wanted to help people feel beautiful.

Perks of that were the flexibility of hours for a future family, being able to be there for my future kids, and if we’re being honest.. saving money on doing my kid’s and husband’s hair every year. 😅

But then I moved to the Tulsa area and started meeting people like Amanda.

Not only is she kind and so deserving of everything good in the world..
she needed to feel the way everyone else felt about her.

Stunning.
She has no idea how beautiful she is.
Inside and out.

I truly believe that adding back the fullness to her hair that she once had has given her a boost and dare I say a pep in her step?? 💃🏼

My sweet friend, I hope you know how much I love my time with you and how much I adore you. You’re hilarious, you’re caring, a STELLAR mom, and honestly one of the coolest people I’ve ever met. I always want to know my life with you in it. ♥️ also can we talk about your growout!? Like what!? 😍

I’m just going to say it.
I’m spilling the coffee this morning.
