Oral estrogen passes through the liver first, which can increase clotting factors. Transdermal estradiol (patch, gel, spray) bypasses that first pass, and observational studies have not shown the same rise in clot risk at standard doses. Women with a personal clotting history still need careful evaluation. This is exactly why your plan should be built in a consultation, not copied from a friend.
